I am incredibly excited for this project: I have begun an amateur novelization of one of my all-time favourite PC games "Icewind Dale." The idea came to me a year ago actually, but I didn't get around to starting it until today. I'm kind of surprised the idea of a novelization of a favourite game didn't occur to me sooner hehe. This is going to be an amazing adventure for me. A challenging one! I haven't written something of this scope before.

There are parts of the game that are narrated, and I have decided to keep those, word-for-word, because they are phenomenally written. I love them too much to omit or rewrite them. The other thing that I will be keeping is most of the key dialogue, such as conversations with major plot NPCs. Again, this is exceptionally written and I want to keep it as true as possible. My only regret is that the voiceovers can't be in the story! Icewind Dale has some of the best voice acting I've ever encountered before.

I have no idea how long this project is going to take me. Months? Over a year? All I know is I am going to take my time and thoroughly enjoy it. I do plan on posting it when I have completed it, but there raises my question: how do I post something so huge? Clearly I won't be able to copy-paste it into the forums, so are there sites that allow for such large walls of text? Furaffinity perhaps?

So excited!!  :birdy:

You could try fanfiction.net

I have played Icewind Dale but I didn't think the game had much of a story compared to Baldur's Gate.

Ah, but that's the idea! A damn good idea! The game only has a basic plot and the main characters are all created by the player, meaning that the writer has a lot of freedom while still being able to stay true to the original content. It's brilliant, really.

I hope you get back to this project, hun. It really is a wonderful idea.
