im realy just looking for any advice all i keep hearing about is some con called vancoufur ... what ever that is i heard is arriund my B day

VancouFur is in Burnaby so if you live in the GVA then it's probably the most economical convention to attend.

The only other convention I've attended is Anthrocon, but it gets quite expensive when you take into account airfare and taxicabs ontop of the standard hotel and food budget you need for a convention.
You might want to look at other Westcoast conventions in the states like in Seattle or California. Wikifur has a whole list of all the noteable furry conventions: http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/List_of_conventions_by_attendance

And a cool visual map to see which are the closest! http://en.wikifur.com/FurryConventionMap.html

There are lots of good cons around, but a lot depends on your budget too!

If you are looking for something in 2014 and don't want to go too far I would suggest Rainfurrest down in Seattle: https://www.rainfurrest.org/2014/

If you are looking to get to know some people locally check out others things like games night and sushi Tuesday in the Lower Mainland Events section of the Forum.

There is also CampFur coming up pretty quick! http://www.campfur.ca/

As for Vancoufur, that is a blast too! The website is getting themed up right now for next year, but you can follow Vancoufur on Twitter and Furaffinity.

The official 2015 dates are: March 5-8 2015!

If budget is an issue you might want to consider holding off on cons until you can safely afford them. /shrug

Sorry Cotton Candy Collie, I must have misunderstood :)

Vancoufur itself is fairly new but it does have a reputation for being the "Friendly" Con, so I think that could be what you are looking for.

As for drama, as far as I know that can be found in any community and I believe its more related to who you associate with. I also don't like drama, so I hear ya, but it *is* an unavoidable part of knowing people in general.

I would say VF as well as the other events and cons I have had personal experience have not been full of drama, but that is only my experience, I can't speak for the others here!

Hopefully we will see you out at VF, and I hope your work improves for you :)

We got Howloween coming up in October that you can attend. And ass for Drama, it just depends on the people you associate with. Drama happens everywhere you go because some people are just Dicks. You see it at work, school, socially. Just take it all as a grain of salt and engoy your time. They complain to make oyu feel bad about yourself but you're a good person so don't let it get to you. Howl' is about $45 I think and it's a nice little con to get started with. You want to meet up sometime? I noticed you a Surreyite aswell. How long have you been living in the area?

i know i sound like a dick saying this but if anyone ever trys dragging me into drama between two people that are both my friends i dont pick sides i just walk away and let them deal with it theres no need of dragging others into your personal ishues that i have no asosiation with or no right to say anythin (this allready happend) but other then that im a pritty chill guy i just wana go to a con get realy stoned and have fun (i DO NOT DRINK dont ask me) meeting a bunch of furs most of who i dont know and get all the hugs and everyone watch me blush all the time

Mods here are weird. Remove a reply to something someone posted but completely ignore that the person has porn as their forum image.

They're wearing a g-string. I say, it's not porn.

I am pretty sure they meant that it is very uhh.. revealing.
I am but a blade in the crowd.

I have seen what comes of those who raise themselves above others.
