I have scads upon scads of chard growing all over my garden and I need to get rid of it so I can plant my garlic.
There's more than I could ever possibly use even if I froze it, which would more than fill my freezer.
If you find yourself in the area and want some, text/call me at 778-232-3449.

There's still lots of chard. It will probably be here until first frost.
For anyone who doesn't know what Chard is, it's got a stock like celery, leaves like spinach and tastes kind of like beets.
It hardly takes any time at all to cook.
It's good in soup, I used it in my stuffing instead of celery. I also like to put it in pasta with oil, garlic and Parmesan cheese.

*sniffs at it suspiciously* ...omnoms?

I've only heard the word Chard less than a few times ever.. xP
Now I'm curious on trying some.
Any advise on how to prepare it? Or what it goes well with?
Is putting into ziplock in the freezer the best way to store it? Or what would you suggest?

It doesn't take long to cook at all, A very short time steaming.
Like I said, soup, either a light chicken broth or tomato based like a beef barley.
Having a garden, I'm used to just throwing whatever's ready to harvest into anything I happen to be making so for me, just about anything goes with anything.

For freezing, I would chop it up so it can be thrown in soups or stuffings or tomato sauces.
But if you really want to get the full flavour of it, I would just steam it lightly and toss it into pasta with basil, oil/butter, garlic, a bit of prosciutto or pancetta if you've got it, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
That's my "Oh no, I have no food in the house" meal because I always keep most of those ingredients well stocked no matter what.
