So I was thinking it might be nice to have something for myself to record dancing with.  It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but the current Camera I have kind of sucks with 3.2 megapixels, I got it back in 06 for like 150 dollars I think.  An old sony digital camera.

Supposedly there's a lot better things for similar if not way better prices.  Curious what would be an aforable or good chioce of camera?  Also just how 'bad' is my current one at those limits?

take a trip down to granville st and go see lens and shutter.  they will give you great advice about your camera, the one you would love and then of course the one you can get by with all within your budget.

I'll do you one better, Fazar. Narrow down your search to, say, 2 specific cameras. If you can't decide, narrow it down to a specific brand and style (point-and-shoot, amateur quality, professional quality, extra rugged). Once you have that information, I'll talk to my roommate, who happens to be a camera salesman at London Drugs, and see what he would reccomend.

Oh yes, I'll need to know your preferred price range, too.

if we're talking still cameras, I swear by the Sony digital SLRs - they're mid-priced and the picture quality is solid. (Sony bought Minolta, so they combined their digital stuff with the Minolta photographic knowledge. It's a great combination.) check my Flickr to see the quality I get with a five year old A200 - the cameras have gotten better since then.
