Hi peoples~

I'm curious, has anyone here had their entire day ruined by just one single thing? Not even a big thing just something that really kinda hurt and ruined your mood?

About two hours ago I returned home from the mall, totally psyched because I bought a new hoodie/shirt from warehouse one, I started telling friends about my new find everyone was like ooo pretty.

A sorta-friend-ish guy on my Steam *Digital game purchasing/web chat program* friends list, messages me and invites me to a fur meet. I've got social anxiety but still have people skills to I hinted that I'd think about it,

I start to notice every few sentences he types to me he puts a smily face ";p" at the end of, after a few of these I said "don't you winky sticky tongue out face me, mister >:3" after a few minutes he types back "uh, right." so to break the awkward silence I pointed out all his silly faces, and he replies "I hope you can have a real conversation"

It really hurt, to avoid calling him a jerk I removed him from my friends list..

Anyways </rant> has this ever happened to someone else?

:-\ wow, that was an assholish thing for him to say. You should've retorted "yes, can you?" since he was posting constant smiles and all.

I actually missed a job interview today because they didn't tell me when it was gonna be >.<
Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for anything but you can't help but smile when you see them fall down a flight of stairs.

Sorry to hear that Sparky, are you going to try calling them tomorrow and asking about a reschedule??

I don't think my "friend" was being an asshole on purpose, he probably just didn't think before he lep.

Yeah, that happens to me pretty regularly. I've got an on-off switch on my moods, and sometimes it takes one thing to shift me from feeling good about life into kitten-scaring mode.

Best thing to do is just try to recognize that you're not that affected by those little things in the long run, and carry on. Try to get that good feeling back, or just do stuff you enjoy. Might not be ideal, but it's better than nothing.

Yeah, I called back yesterday and my timing couldn't have been better. we did the interview right over the phone. Hopefully she liked what she heard. :3

That's the problem with online communication, you don't get the whole picture of what the other person means to say. But you really overreacted. It was silly to unfriend him over something so trivial. Its always easier to say how you feel at the time rather then make amends for a poor reaction later.

unfortunately the written word does not translate very well the vocal words tone and therefore the meaning.  sometimes getting a chat started online can be a little difficult and often something written gets misunderstood.  don't de-friend him totally, but restrict your communications with him.  until he really proves himself as a jerk.
