Hey guise
So I kind of ran into a problem with my fursuit... I've used velcro to stick the sides of the shirt part together, instead of a zipper (because I have no idea how to sew zippers) and when wearing it, the velcro doesn't stick and makes a giant gaping hole whenever I turn or bend over or something. I've highlighted the velcro part in the picture to show you what I mean.

I have no idea how to fix it...
Feedback is appreciated ^_^

Unfortunately, your best option is going to be putting a zipper in.

You can find a tutorial for how to correctly put a zipper in, and if you practice on a piece of scrap fabric, I think that you'll be surprised. It really is easier to do than most people make it out to be.

The other option is to sew on hooks and eyes, or snaps. I would be hesitant to do either one, just because they would be bearing a lot of stress and have a higher tendency to fail.

If you decide to put a zipper in, for the love of all things holy, do not go with a plastic zipper. They have a much higher failure rate than metal ones, and just don't stand up to the test of time or rigorous activity.

With the convention taking place in less than 5 days, I'll try anything now, haha. I'll see how it works. Thanks for the tip, I'll avoid plastic zippers!

I like using zippers and velcro/snaps

If a zipper is too hard to sew with a sewing machine, it is possible to sew it by hand.

Just make sure that your zipper is either the same colour as the fur or that you can hide it!!

I always have bad luck with sewing machines, I think sewing by hand is the way to go with my luck... and haha, yes, wouldn't want to sew in a bright pink zipper or anything...
