Hey furries!
Your new maximum forum avatar size is 150 x 150.  Feel free to upload something bigger, for as we all know, size counts!

Only if Tai would stop deleting my prons :(
There are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those that don't.

Luckily the higher avatars just puts them in a scroll bar (where else are 150'2 avatars even used?) but something really beneficial would be to disable post signatures. Everyone's got a spot for avatars, so why do they need a picture sitting below everything they post? I believe there's a spot for text below the Avatar for text aswell and tons of room on individual profile pages. Just thinking about what a forum would look like if it was streamlined for what's important.

Nah. I like signatures. So long as they aren't filled with huge images and lots of animated things and stuff. One thing I like about Gaia Online, is that your signature only appears on the most recent post you have made on the page. So if you have posted 5 times, it only shows up on the 5th one.

Yeah...like signatures that are bigger then your avatar?
I just figure the avater is there on the left side so as you scroll through posts you don't have to actually look to the left and read who's posting, and isn't that enough of a signature? I've never signed a check with my name and took five minutes to doodle out a little picture beside it.
From the layout of the program used to make the forum, I'd suggest one line signatures. That's only because the "Report Message Log~something~" is already taking up a line below the posts anyways.

ps. Your signature, Zenia, takes up 1/3 of my browser on a netbook. I'm interested to see what it's like for people on Handhelds and Phones.

http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/9025/screend.jpg This is what it looks like on my screen. We shouldn't have to put the most minimum thing possible just in case someone is using a tiny netbook or a handheld device. Forums were not really meant for that (IMO). If you don't like sigs, then you should be able to disable them. I did on another forum since everyone insisted on having multiple animated images (huge data sized ones) and millions of quotes.

Though mine is a little big, so I will put up my 75x300 version instead.

This way http://img860.imageshack.us/img860/997/this.jpg seems like alot of unessary content in thread, that can just be read in the the persons profile (with more of there own content to add).

To me, post with a limit of this http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/8305/tothis.jpg just seems more pleasing to the eye and a little more personal.

Nah. Too boring. I, for one, never notice anything over on the left except for the avatar. I like seeing peoples personalities and things in a signature.

I personally find it aesthetically pleasing to have an image sig. Provided its not animated to hell and back and the person doesn't have more then 1 or 2 of them. I do know that some forums have scrolling signatures and the ability to turn them on or off if each individual user choses to do so.

I do agree that above our avatars, it is a little much. Most forums have a colour difference for people in different usergroups and have just the usergroup name under their username instead of an image like the "Admin" one in your example Kohl. Less in that sense would probably be nice.

In regards to the new avatar sizes, I think the sizes we had were great. Making them bigger is going to leave more unneeded white space in the forums, specially for those who don't have a larger icon to fill that gap. One person will have a large icon while the next to post will have a small one. The styles for forums like these are usually made to go with the largest input in that field type and wont be uniform to each individual post (which would look funny anyways if it did that.) I personally don't mind about the sizes. i'm keeping mine the way it is since i love my icon so much and don't want to make another image just solely for the use on these boards. XD I just think its going to look a lot more uneven. :3

We'll see how it goes! :D Who knows, larger icons might be fun~

"I, for one, never notice anything over on the left except for the avatar"
That's the point. I don't directly look at them but from the pattern of color I can still tell who's posting while scrolling down a bunch of posts. It just gets irritating when someones sig comes up, then you read a couple words from it over and over again or if you see the same .jpg blur pass by. I'm in for the avatars and it's a good way to tell who's writing what but seeing the same sequence over and over seems like a shadowed attempt at spam. Customize your profile page with gifs and embeded midis all you please but on a website driven by peoples thoughts shouldn't be dominated by a computer copy>pasting material.
