I've been doing a whole lot of nothing. For almost a month.
Housework and sitting on my ass, basically.  :P

I've been trying to get on the exercise machine more to balance out the negative karma due to me. . . not exercising enough. I've found that my average 2 miles in half an hour, which for me isn't bad. That and drinking only water. I'm trying to create good habits for myself with all this free time.

And i know how it feels sometimes to not get out >.< it is the sux, i went to metrotown the other day.. realized how tiny the arcade is getting. so i bought new wii games LOL

Renwaldo

I don't actually know anybody enrolled there, but I've had a bad experience with them myself.

At one time I was thinking of going into the arts after high school, I was invited to the art institute to get information on their college. The woman I spoke to was really pushy. I was only 16/17 years old and definitely not prepared to be studying anywhere, yet this lady had me in there for an hour 'selling' their programs. I was just there to pick up booklets and ask some questions. She knew I wouldn't last a second in any one of their classes, but she was promoting all these things to get me to apply and pay up anyways.

If I remember correctly the cost was $40 000 for their fashion design program. The people who had graduated and found work through the school were only making twenty grand a year at most. The majority of them were making between 14 - 16 grand a year in sale associate positions or on apparel assembly lines.

I definitely don't recommend that school.

Renwaldo

Not unless you really know what you're doing anyways.  :P

If you already have the experience and talent then their programs might not be so bad. I was given the impression they don't exactly prepare people for the careers they advertise though.

I go to AI for the professional recording program. Yah its expensive but I did look at the other option (PAVI and Nimbus) and the program at AI just seemed to make so much more sense and a lot more comfortable then any of the other schools

And guess what, I love it there! Although the old campus was a lot better I have no bad experiences with the school what so ever. I've even already done some stuff in the industry that's to some of my teachers.

But then again, I've been working in that particular industry for most of my life and I've always known what I wanted to do... ish.

I believe every word of it.
My father says he got screwed over at GRIT back in the day. According to him the industry had no available jobs at the time, my dad has been a television cable and dish installer with several companies over the years, after one of them laid him off he was looking to upgrade his education to find more easily another position. He was enrolled in one of their electrician programs (something to do with tv or phone installation) which included a paid work experience. Speaking with the guy he was an apprentice under, he dad said that he was making more money at his old job without this degree then he would be even as an employer graduated from GRIT. Chances are he wouldn't be an employer though, he likely would have graduated as a blue colour labourer at the very bottom all over again!  :-\

Anyways, to put things back on topic. . .

Today I'm driving my mom out to Langley. I failed my driving test so I need to practice some more driving my parents around. It was the silliest mistake, I didn't shoulder check enough making turns. That's mainly why they failed me.

There's that, and I need to get started on my xmas shopping before it gets too crazy. I plan to spend a fair bit this year. My brother likes 'Fable III' so I expect to blow a good $70 or so on that. My aunt wants a gift certificate to 'The Keg' so there's another $50 at least.
