Lets discuss some philosophy guys... I'll try to start it off, feel free to hi-jack the topic and share your own observations of our reality n' shit. K, here I go:

"Variation on the concept of an afterlife."

In the way of dwelling amongst the living while dead consider this:

Our works and words live on after death... people are like "so-and-so was really cool" and thus he/she becomes remembered positively, while assholes are usually forgotten about.

People like Hitler are remembered because the gravity of their sins are to be a testament of the cruelty of mankind...

...The righteous are remembered in a good light, as people who have helped humanity by their kind deeds.

An afterlife... we leave a mark on the world and other people and the events of history long after our deaths. Trippy huh? (This is what the 'Book of Life' means for those of you who know the phrase.) Our words and actions live on after we die.

Our morality is the ultimate decider of how we are remembered and influence the future. Live as a gentle soul and you will be loved by future kind and your positive contributions will be built upon.

On the other hand if you wanna be a douchebag in life to cheat others you can do what Dr. Faustus does in Marlowe's book: You can sell yourself to evil and cheat others in every cruel way. Ultimate power on Earth for a time, though you'll be remembered as a sonofagun and might not live long. Wickedness begets revenge and stuff.

Bam, your turn: Where do we come from? What is the meaning of life? Where do we go after we die? All that sthuff...

Take care,

W.S.
