You probably know about this incident already that Marty the Marmot got attacked. As the occasional fursuiter this had an impact and I am sure regular fursuiters in the community had concerns about it as well. Furries cheat at games it is our nature, just saw this again at Howl or Rainfurrest  Yet to get angry and take it personal is out of place.

At least the assailant had his moment of fame and glory but at the end of the day he found his inbox filled with hate mail and his girlfriend (if any) dumping him.

This video scares me so much, it illustrates that risk of fursuiting outside of a con as there are some people who completely forgo the fact that there's just a normal person inside costumes.

Like, I can't imagine someone doing this to anyone out of a costume and it not be considered utter and complete assault outright.

This isn't so much about furries as it is hockey fans proving that they got more testosterone than brains. The real zinger is that this was all over a charity thing and this fuckwit actually has the balls (or lack of them) to attack someone over a little game.

A dick so tiny it would take an ant with ant sized tweezers to hold it.

Well, I am sure that that guy was a bit too much angry. But I am feeling sorry for the mascot dude.
He did not do anything bad :(

This isn't about hockey fans so much as one guy getting angry and being incredibly stupid.

Yep. This is the kind of thing to warn fursuiters about! Some people just don't think twice (or at all) about the fact there is a person inside the costume. Heck, I got slapped in the face on the Halloween fursuit walk, and had my muzzle grabbed and forced upward by onlookers. Sure, they were drunk and it was dark, and on Halloween night. But I'm sure they wouldn't have done it to a "normal" human person. I suppose the bottom line is, always have a handler with you!!

Drake Wingfire

That is the ONE major thing every fursuiter needs to know, if you are gonna do anything outside of furry hangouts like cons.. have at least one handler, heck I would go as far to say at least have two friends with you who are not in suit. I honestly don't trust any person further than I can throw them seeing how they act to each other, forget furries/ fursuiters or anyone who isn't part of their "norm".

Thank you for all your input, interesting to hear different opinions on that.

People do tend to forget there is an actual person in the suit. I recently watched a panel about fursuiting outside of cons and it can be quite shattering what you experience from inconsiderate individuals. Kicking and pulling tail being quite common.
