Hi Guys,

So, I have this idea of starting a furry workshop to allow any furries in the area to work on any projects they want to. The main idea behind this would be getting furries together in a common shop so that you can have others around that keep your creative juices flowing, but also so that you can get access to tools and machines that you yourself can't afford but as a group we could afford.

I don't want to spam this posting so I've made a wikifur article regarding this idea, and i suggest that you read it over, and make your own edits to the article. If your interested in this collaborative workspace, please join me in discussing it on the wiki article, and here and we'll see if we can make it happen!

Wow this sounds like a great idea! I'd definitely get started on a fursuit If we had a workshop going!

This sounds fantastic! I definitely approve and would love to help in whatever way i can. Even if its just showing up and paying. ^^
Its a really great idea that i think will be a really awesome space for people to spend time around other people while working (something a lot of people i am sure, know is hard when you are stuck at home working :/ ) not to mention being able to have collaborative sessions and even lessons. I am fully supportive of this! :D

awhile ago i posted for some help with my resin mask (yet to be purchased) and received no replies.  to have this workshop available would sure make asking for help with my suit a lot easier.  i want to make it but i do not have the skills so having someone available to assist would be great.

Haha I can't believe you expect furries to pay so they can work.

Huh?  I understood it as us pooling our resources so everyone benefits by having access to something we wouldn't normally be able to afford.

@kohl : Furries pay for things all the time. Those who want a place to work, those whos artistic sides -are- our living, do it all the time.
Just because we are furries does not mean that we are not reasonable. Artwork is my -life- and i pay for supplies, selling space and travel expenses all the time to be able to better my work and get my name out there. (so do a good many other artists in our fandom and even non artists! A lot of furries run their own businesses, or are fairly successful outside of the fandom.)

Having a friendly place to work, get help from others and ideas, is a great idea that i would gladly pay a fee for.
"Furry" does not = selfish and unwilling. This is an idea thread and since people have shown interest already, should show you that furries are willing to pay for things when it means something to them. If you do not approve or dont care about the project, then leave the thread alone. Those who have commented and read Trapa's post thoroughly will understand -why- there would need to be fee's and whatnot to have such a place at our disposal. We are not unreasonable. Please do not make us out to be because that is not fair to those who actually have a business sense and understand what things are worth.

Trapa,

Can I get my DEF CON passport stamped at your workshop?

all through the summer we see a 'charity' car wash on some corner.  sometimes even at opposite corners.  if we can get enough members to commit to one or two car washes a month, then a good portion of the rent can be collected through the wash.
bake sales and other fundraising should be able to keep workshop membership dues and drop in fees down.

any other money making ideas?

p.s.  to kohl   """Haha I can't believe you expect furries to pay so they can work."""    please stop being so negative.
