iPhone problem - help D:

So basically I ran into a problem recently with my iphone, but I'd rather not get into details about it here on the thread, though I can tell you over PM if you ask, I just... don't feel too comfortable mentioning the stupid reason as to why it's broken. >.< But basically long story short, my phone has liquid inside it, not a lot, I think, and my screen's gone dim. I can see it at a certain angle, I can touch the screen/use apps and whatnot, can turn it on/off, and yes, the brighness is set to it's highest, that doesn't really do anything. It's the backlight on the screen that isn't working for some reason and I don't know what to do. I've tried prying it apart but I failed because I don't quite have the proper tools. Halp pls k thx. ; ^;

I'm hardly a skilled pro, but looking around it appears there are some potential fixes for dampened iPhones. Basically, packing it with silica gel packages or rice (!) can help draw the moisture out, from what I've found.

whenever you drop your phone in water, pull the battery immediately and thoroughly dry it out. the silica or rice thing works, pasta does too, like macaroni. basically anything that absorbs water. there is a water detector  on all new phones so any warranty is basically null and void. good luck, i hope you can get it working

Actually they do lol. :P They just don't expect people to go all the way inside the hardware and poke around inside the phone. xD

Also: right now I think my only problem is the backlight of my phone, but other than that everything else work perfectly fine. Though there also is a bit of stickiness inside, from the "liquid" that my phone fell in. It's the sugar from the liquid that's making it stick, just to clarify. So I guess at the most what I need is to get inside the phone and wipe it clean, but, I can't do that myself, and I don't have the proper tools >.<

first thing, if your computer will still recognize your phone - do a back up.

other best case option is to get a new phone from apple.  they will sell you a new 3gs phone for $169 provided that you take in your old iphone to prove you have a busted one.  they want to keep you as a customer so they will give you a great deal on a 3gs in order to keep you as an apple customer.
