Just a short story I wrote along time ago, I thought I could share.

The Fox Parade

As the rain started to pour down from the cloudy, dark and miserable sky; clashing down on the hard pavement, making such rhythm as each raindrop had its own specific sound leaving its marks of the pavement as it grew wet.
A Fox waddles out from the darkness in a mysterious dirty-brown overcoat and a old western style hat, that would hide its eyes from the world; standing just outside from its den, still keeping dry as it looks out onto the wet streets of a dead town and just watching the raindrops dance.
The mysterious overcoat Fox pulls out a particular looking item from its overcoat pocket and then folded the item out into an umbrella; raising it slowly over its head and begins its journey setting out into the rain and walking into the dead of town.
On its journey, it stumbled across an unhappy Raccoon, sitting on the curve; alone in the dark being cold and wet. The Raccoon looks up to the over-coated Fox with a frown; it's eyes seemed to be filled with such sorrow, that the Fox could not imagine what horror the Raccoon had saw.
However there was no questions needed to be answered, as the Fox continued walking down its path; smiling and giving a friendly gesture to the Raccoon. The Raccoon soon got up from its spot and continued down the street following just behind the Fox in the pouring rain.
The Fox looked back to the Raccoon, noticing it was following behind, so the Fox then turned to continued looking straight ahead with a smile; as it started to hum a simple tune. The Raccoon started to splash into the puddles created by the rain to add on to the rhythm.
Not before long the Fox came across another strange being; A mysterious Hyena hiding in the shadows of a alleyway starring back out at the Fox, as if the Hyena was just a statue.
The eyes of the Hyena seemed to hold some terrifying message; to something so evil, so scary, yet so wise.
The Fox however just continued its pace heading on straight, humming his tune in a soft melody. While the Raccoon continues on behind, still splashing in the puddles and acknowledging the Hyena's presence and so baldly with courage waves to the dark Hyena, with a smile on its face and continues splashing and dancing in the puddles.
The Hyena walked out of the darkness of the alleyway, revealing itself to the light of the world and followed the two up the road in the rain as well carrying a flute to play along and awkwardly fitted into the small march down the road.  It didn't take long before the Hyena joined in sync to the rhythm  of the Fox and Raccoon made.
The Fox began to take off its overcoat and dance in the rain as well, keeping the rhythm together and exposing his beauty in the dark and cold rain.
The Fox would imagined to see tons of people cheering them on as they paraded down the street in the pouring rain, as well as knew the Raccoon and Hyena would too possibly share the same vision the Fox would have.
As they marched further down, they all looked towards a mental nut case wolf; misunderstood and left sitting on the corner of the street, with only a smile and small awkward laugh left to keep it so sane.
The Fox, Raccoon, and Hyena just marched by, sharing laughter with one another and expressing such tune to the world, that soon would make the wolf silenced and confused, but excitingly runs in to join the marching parade. Sharing its gifts; stomping and making more of a drum beat.
Suddenly the rain was coming to an end, just as the street was coming to an end; The clouds were beginning to fade and pass on and the sun was starting to come out.
Revealing down a bright light pathway to the Fox`s destination and the streets didn't take long before life came back. Filling up with busy people heading to work, going shopping, seeing friends and so on.
The Raccoon, Hyena and Wolf had suddenly vanished without a trace and what remained behind was only the Fox, standing before this forest; looking down upon the streets filled with people and so the Fox begins to laugh while going on all fours and jumping into the bushes to hide from the world and scurry back off to its meadow fields deep in the woods.
Hoping to soon show itself parading down the empty dead streets again, on another rainy day to come.

I enjoyed the imagery this story evoked for me, and it made me smile! ^_^
I find rainy days quite soothing.

Thanks for contributing. Hope to see more writing from you.

Haha thanks! I glad you liked it. ^^
The stories whole vision and inspiration was from listening to Yoko  Kanno - Stranger (you should check it out, really good blue jazz music)
Initially I would picture a dead empty strip on Vegas where its dark and rainy but so lively with all the colored lights from casinos and such reflecting onto the streets and off the wet road some cars would speed by leaving like a tail of there rear light beam chasing behind and the colors would just dance.
However I decided to come with this version to express that image kind of.. it kinda symbolizes the fact how society can be so busy and overwhelmed to stop and notice the good things in life that we have which is ourselves and imagination and the company of others to help contribute.
At least that is how I see it, when I read my own literature. It could probably also express some other meanings, I haven't picked up yet, as it just came to my head like it wrote itself.

Haha no problem, I kinda want to join in on a small parade like a zombie walk that Vancouver does or something like that, it sounds like fun lol

This story regarding the close bonding of strangers makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. With that said, it means quite a lot. This is, in short, emotionally well written.
