Well as you have all noticed the forum is back!

there was a bit of an error within the SQL Database, but now everything is back to normal, Though we are still concerned and want your opinion on the matter!

Let us hear what you have to say to us so we may continue to improve!

It was unfortunate but we should all expect these outages now and again. What we should learn is multiple back-ups in two different places. As well as the old saying' if it ain't broke don't fix it."

Glad we're back up .. onwards and upwards.

And now to get things back to the way we had it before the outage.... Ah well. This kind of stuff happens, so I'm not going to let it bother me.

Well, in Rino's defense, it was a security update, and I did say he could do it.

We all thought it would work, it looked like it was going to work to me, but i wasnt sure, it was somthing small, and it locked everyone out of the board for upgrade, but now its over with.

Glad to see the board back up.  It was only a day.. I've seen them down for months..   Great work

Good work guys!

Can't think of any criticisms to help you out in the future.  When problems happen, take your time and try not to stress over it too much.  Do what's needed to get it fixed right, and don't worry about us users.  No ones going to die if the forums are down for a couple days :)

thank you everyone for your patience and support, it is greatly appreciated!

Okay, I see you guys run SMF here - is it the update they just put out (1.1.9 I think) that broke things? o_o;

I admin a bunch of forums that also run on SMF, and I had JUST finished getting them all up to 1.1.8 a few weeks ago with a bunch of hackery.  I also just got an e-mail from Simple Machines saying 1.1.9's out and I should update them... do I need to worry if I do upgrade them? :P

you do if your not prepared, make sure your SQL Syntax errors like ours Oddly did.

If you dont presume as planned and it will work smoothly.

Good to know - I'll probably test with a couple of the otherwise less traffic'ed boards first. n.n
