Sweet I found some ancient Relic or something!

Lemme get a closer look

Wait a minute...

Hey does anyone know the name of this spider? I really want to know.
This is one bad ass spider. I found this on tumblr.
What do you guys think of this spider?
Enjoy?

Zen

Some sort of hermit spider, but not a brown recluse.

Also, I am officially creeped out. Thanks Brittany!  >:(

I'm not sure if that's the natural look for that spider. It's body looks scarred. I don't know what breed that is though. o0;
Is that the same specimen in each picture?

Selkit

D'aww, it's kinda cute in its own creepy trapdoor-butt kinda way.

I think its just a regular ol' spider. But with his ass chopped off. Those things are very delicate.

Did a little research out of curiousity, just to identify what this little fellow (or lady; Difficult to tell with most spiders) is. It's most likely Cyclocosmia Truncata, a form of trapdoor spider. That weird flat plate for an abdomen it has, is armor; When threatened, it retreats into its burrow, which is a good fit for its abdomen, leaving nothing exposed but that little hardened plate. Delightful. And unfortunately, apparently frequently used by creationists in their anti-science rants, if the Google results are any indication. Initially thought it was a member of the mygalomorphae family based on its body shape, eye arrangement and leg structure, turns out I was partially right. These little guys are native to the southeast end of the United States, and harmless.

Oh Uni, I lol'ed. XD I lol'ed so hard I set the dog off. Now he's giving my shoe an aggressive talking to. XD

velvetkytten

very creepy but amazing at the same time.

I have seen some weird ass bugs by stumbling on the net. :-3

I've said and done things I regret here, so I just don't do anything instead.
