Aww, a guide dog got pulled onto the Skytrain tracks last week, apparently it happened near my place too:

Looks like he'll be okay, but ouch, a broken nose!

Yeah, I also heard about this on Global news.

I was there very soon after it happened.  I saw Palm (the golden Lab) on the Lougheed station platform, under an emergency blanket, with SkyTrain staff at his side.  I noticed that he was conscious, but he had abrasions all along one front leg.  One of the other people waiting for the SkyTrain mentioned that he was a guide dog, and had been dragged by the SkyTrain.  He was put into a large dog carrier and carried away while I was waiting for my SkyTrain to arrive.  This incident raises SkyTrain safety concerns in my mind.  I've also seen a passenger drop his coat as he exited the SkyTrain, which the doors then closed on, and the coat got dragged away, hanging halfway out of the train.

I understand that scissors can beat paper, and I get how rock can beat scissors, but there's no way paper can beat rock. Paper is supposed to magically wrap around rock, leaving it immobile? Why can't paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can't paper do this to people? Why aren't sheets of college ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they attempt to take notes in class? I'll tell you why, because paper can't beat anybody; a rock would tear it up in two seconds. When I play Rock-Paper-Scissors, I always choose rock. Then, when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper, I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist, and say, "Oh sorry, I thought paper would protect you."

Not so much the broken nose I'm ouching at. More so the punctured lung and broken ribs :/ Poor baby D: I don't know what I would do if something like this ever happened to my pups.
