: Two Local furs open their tea shop today...
: Masozi January 26, 2015, 04:28:32 -07:00
Some of you probably know this already but it is time to get the word out about a new business that is having it's grand opening today. It's being run by two local guys in the community that you probably know of or have heard about, Alex (a.k.a Void) and Chris (a.k a.Chono).   For the past few months they have been dealing with incredible amounts of bureaucratic battiness to get the place open and have sunk a LOT of money into getting everything ready for this day.

The place is a small Tea shop, (Mad Hatterz Tea House Tea Room)  Located at 9520 Ericson Dr. Burnaby.

Their Facebook page is here -  https://www.facebook.com/madhatterztea

Tokar was in the Now a bit back, and now Christ too (missed it!)

Also, albeit closing time of 6, it would be neat to integrate Giz's adults meet (glad I'd shown him the pub) before or potentially after for furs:

I wish for all the best.

Relies to posts below...

Xanitos - Yep, Void and Chono have gotten together on this one and they have put in a lot of work in the past 2 months to open.

Rainrat - Good to hear, they had a soft opening last week but decided to make the official opening today.

Zadow - Edited my original post with the info, and facebook page.

Sasha - Thanks for posting the image with the link to the Now story that came out a while back as the nonsense that they had to go through was amazing to see.  Chono didn't have a Christmas holiday last month because he had to stay here and deal with the bureaucratic battiness.

Gizmo - Yes, I hope to see the community support these guys and hopefully you'll be able to drop in for tea for a long time to come. During Vancoufur it would be great if some con attendees might go and drop by the shop if possible (time and circumstances permitting). Hopefully word will get out and people will patronize the shop. Chris has worked in a tea shop before so he's going into it with some experience and knowledge on what he wants to do. If people want to drop by on their way to other events that would be good too, they would appreciate the business.
