My mom showed me this and I cannot think of a single damn reason this should even be happening but if you wish to help please read and sign the petition.

(if this isn't allowed then please delete it but I figured this would be a good a place as any to spread the word)
I think it is an absolutely right thing to post here. Thank you, I've signed.

I am glad to hear that. I hope enough signatures can be made to prevent it from happening.
I signed. Thanks for posting this, hope they are saved
Me too. No Wolf deserves to die for any reason what so ever.. unless rabid and attacks people then it's more for survival rather than cold murder
I totally agree.
Signed, the human race can be pathetic sometimes, hopefully this is kept from happening
I've heard of people going after wolves, but in B.C?! Well, pardon my ignorance.
I've signed as well.
May they be free to roam the lands.
Thanks you two, and I know Xan it's sad that we even have to do this.. I am not proud to be a human being all the time because of other humans like that.
Kai I didn't even know it was happening at all till my mom showed me, I was like OH Hell nah not on my watch
Moderator hat on: From a rules point of view, it's alright to post on the General Board. I do request that you use a more descriptive Subject line in the future.
Sorry Rain I'll make sure to next time

Yeah like I have NEVER heard of people going after wolves in BC itself, just places in the states. You never hear anything to do with wolves here.

I know right!!! It was kinda shocking to hear about something like this in BC.
While I am shocked and sickened to see such a thing from a biological perspective I can understand why the government might choose this action.
However I can not sit by and watch animals be killed just because of 'population balance." for crying out loud people. We started this whole mess by taking their territory!
It sickens me that I have to admit to being a human sometimes because of things like this,There has to be a better solution then this..maybe we can try relocation or something hmm BC?

Whether their drastic action would flop or be successful I do not believe should be the focus and there may be much of this in time to come. It is a bandaid to balance "decades of habitat destruction and human encroachment". I believe this if the petition were successful in making a statement, we as a creature ourselves, at least here, may be less ignorant of our great causing of imbalance and fund research and more protected land where this balance can be natural again (a long, long, but obtainable road.)
That road doesn't start here, but it is one way on to it and you may choose to be part of a bigger difference, it is your basic right, freedom.

You'd think that our government would learn from the mistake of the seven year wolf cull right next door to us in Alberta. Sure it made a bit of an impact on the Caribou population but they are still endangered and the Alberta government is only now realizing that more than just a wolf cull is going to save the almost extinct Caribou.
