: Don't feed trolls?
: FennecNyan November 16, 2014, 07:11:58 -07:00
Best advice on how to not care when another artist reuploaded your piece and bashes on it just because they are bitter? I know I shouldn't care, and I don't really, but a little part of me is a bit flustered that they'd have to go so low as to draw attention to themselves to bash another person's work when their art won't even sell at 2$.

I reported the submission and they took it down, so that's not an issue.

However, I just.. bah. How do you shake it off properly coming across something like that? The fursuit in question I sold for a very good price, and had alot of nice comments and interest so I really don't presume that the person bashing me was correct. I know it's not perfect, but it's not anything like what they said appearance wise. As a artist I feel that's just really low to do to another >>"

Bitter people will be their bitter selves. Just know that you're better than them, and know you wouldn't ever go down to their own level. It's a problem they have with themselves, that is all.

Without extremes on either end, there would be no contrast - take it as an opportunity to set them as a low point, and raise everything else.

Also know that in such an online setting, something being bad or not is probably not relevant to them (otherwise they would probably critique constructively, hopefully.) - they may have been jealous of your success or had not accepted the buyer liked it genuinely, and felt it necessary to retaliate for their own agenda and fix their own feelings.

Sasha.

If someone has an interest in your work then the words from another should hardly dampen there opinion. If they like it they'll probably still like it regardless of the critique. So if it's your work, with the opinion, that's drawing in a crowd, free advertisement, eh?
