: Pathfinders interest checking. (Dark Souls)
: Lt ReiStark October 03, 2014, 12:07:48 -06:00
I'm inexperienced with Pathfinder, I've played some games with it, but never a whole campaign.
If you don't know, Pathfinders is a Dungeons & Dragons style RPG game, with some altered rules to make it more beginner friendly, and to make custom content easier to add.
Getting down to the nitty gritty, I'd like to see who is interested in starting up a campaign based in the Dark Souls universe. The rules would be fairly light, though there'd be a smaller selection of races, since Dark Souls doesn't have Aasimar, or Drow, or Orcs, and so on. Any race that makes sense though, like Tengu, because there are crow people in the games. I might even let an animal human hybrid in if your character was experimented on by Sieth The Scaleless, and wanted to be human again.

ANYWHO! TL;DR
I want to do a Pathfinders based on Dark Souls, Checking for interest in said game, Praise The Sun.

Story!
The story has a goal that will be slowly built towards dependant on player actions, with an eventual conclusion.
That goal is to escape the undead curse, by any means!
To start there are several undead still stuck in the prison from Dark Souls 1, but they are eventually freed, when the iron bars that hold them in finally corrode and crumble.
These undead are our characters, and together out of a mutual need they seek a way to break their curse, lest they become hollow and lose their sentience.
The plot takes place after Dark Souls, but before Dark Souls 2 lore starts, so the Old Iron King hasn't been born yet.

What kind of characters are we looking for?
Well we need a tank, someone who does physical damage, and some who does magic damage... from there you can go wild.

Any Changes To Character Sheets?
- Start with a Favoured Weapon buff.
- Age is ???
- Starting Equipment is an Estus Flask, Clothes, A Knife, and one Human Effigy.
- Money is counted in souls

Any other rules?
- Items all act like in Dark Souls 2.
- Death returns you to the last visited Bonfire
- Death penalizes you with a stackable Hollow Debuff, and you lose 50% of your souls (Rounding Up)
- Hollow debuff is as follows:
(-5 Max HP. -1 to Diplomacy checks and Will Saves. -1 to Int, Cha, and Wis for every 3 stacks. Take +1 light damage. At 10 stacks you lose your humanity forever, and must make a new character)
- Returning to your death point restores your souls.
- This is Dark Souls  :birdy:
- Human Effigies remove all stacks of Hollow Debuff
- Using a Humanity consumable item removes one stack of Hollow Debuff.
- Praise The Sun!  :birdy:
- Souls are divided fairly on collection.
- If an item is sold for souls, only the person selling it gets the souls.
- Estus Flasks start with 1 use, and are upgraded with shards for more uses, and with Sublime Bone Dust for total Healing effect per use.
- Using a Shard or Bone Dust to upgrade your flask benefits all Estus Flasks in the party.
- You get a gift at the start! Not sure what the gifts will be, but I'm open to ideas : D
- Be nice, and use Jolly Cooperation!  :birdy:
