Hahaha, I know everytime I post, it flashes OMG RAVER! But I was curious enough to see if there were any other ravers on this forum. Preferably Kandi kids, but all types are welcome to post and show their pride (Or shame). Junglists, Glowstickers, Gravers, Cybers, etc.

I feel like the loner on this forum cuz nobody's stated they live close to me/have same interests as me and I would like to meet some people with the same interests :D. PLUR

i have yet to try the rave scene, but I'm interested.  Except for the drugs part.

I'm also one of those potentially curious. I like some of the music and have heard about the dances.

I've been destined to be a raver ever since I was born, maybe. I remember that even as a small child, I always preferred listening to rave music over anything else. And I always loved the fashion and glowy, flashy things.
And the atmosphere when I do rave-related things is amazing in my opinion. If it doesn't give me chills down my spine, it isn't good enough for me. That's how I determine if a rave or party is good or not.

I used to go to them all the time between the years 1998 and 2000, went to many parties at the Riverside Banquet Hall in Richmond and the Spanish Cultural Center in New West.

Would have liked to been a part of the original rave scene in England circa 1989, but I was a decade too late and a whole continent away but we did have a pretty vibrant scene here in Vancouver 10 or so years ago.

Oh and you might get yelled at by mentioning drugs here, it's considered a bit of a taboo subject by the admins.

I'm not big into raves, music, culture or otherwise (not against them either, just indifferent :p), but one thing I do like is the fashion. XD

Especially the overabundance of brightly neon coloured glowy things. @.@;  Oooh shiny...

And with most overabundant ravers, alot of us get kicked into certain stereotypes that get people to hate us. For anyone who read the raver manifesto, one of the quotes in here say this:

I must Confess I have a bit of history in the Kandi Raver scene, haven't done it in a few years, hehe. Used to do the whole shebang LED's, Glowsticks, Tie Die Clothes, Facepaint, and of course, LOT'S of Kandi Bracelets, lol

um im a closet raver, havent been to any non furry related ones, but id love connections to people who could point me in the right direction.  i just ordered a box load of rave toys for rainfurrest :3

There's a rave I'm going to in Seattle called "Escape to Neverland", and DJ S3RL will be spinning. Every rave I gone to has been NON-FURRY Related.  It's going to be amazing. If anyone else is going, we could always meet up there and hang out ^_^ By the way, that rave will be Happy Hardcore. Not everyone's into that kind of rave music, as a warning, lol.

Seattlefur here. I've been dipping into the rave scene a little lately. The rave-style dances at furcons are just about my favorite thing there, You'll find me at the dance for hours every night :3

Been to several non-fur raves over this summer too, bubble bobble #, yellow brick road #, etc.
While it is fun, its a little depressing how my raver friends will just talk about how much the scene has been going  downhill in Seattle for the last 6 years. Easy to see that too, I know the dance at Anthrocon totally blew away every other one I've been too.

Escape to neverland is on October 17th eh? Looks fun, I may be there :)

I want to go to Organix so bad, I just recently turned 19 but I have no photo ID. But my raver friends go there quite frequently. I heard they play some sick psytrance in there~

I'm friends with a few of the dj's there. unfortunately they are really strict about the id thing. But once you get that!!! it's a awesome place ! they remodeled it a bet just recently. if ya go there are a lot of black light stuff so dress up in stuff that will glow !!! even some of the drinks glow !!

Hahah thanks for telling me! Wasn't sure if I should get myself decked out in Kandi if I went to the club. Now I know. I have a blacklight in my room, and I like to keep it on when I'm in there, esspecially when I'm wearing my brightest accessories.

Would have to take the West Coast Express from Mission though if I went. And stay at a friend's place after. Would have to take alot of planning till I can finally afford to live by the Skytrains again.

I used to be into it a bit. Had the clothing and went to occasional parties and club nights. I still like electronic music, though I was into that before I got into the rave scene.

well there are a lot of furs in Vancouver but just to let ya know my door is always open to anyone needed a place to crash. I do live in surrey tho. lol

Yay! I used to live in Surrey, and apparently you live not to far from where I usually stay when I visit around these areas. One day maybe we can hit Organix together when I get my ID ^_^

Awwe, lamesauce. I'd be pretty pissed too. When I want rave toys, I expect them given to me within 2 weeks at most. Doesn't take that long to package something and send it off to wherever.

dollar stores are my best friends for raver toys.. cheap... so if ya lose em it's not a big deal. there is a lot awesome sites that sell some AMAZING raver toys that last tho

Heh.. I've been wanting to break into the raver scene for a while now, just havn't known where/when they are (no raver friends  :( )  So.. no clue what kinda raver I iz.. yet.  ;D

You'll learn eventually. It doesn't matter what kind you are really, they all just have a different job within the rave community. =D

That's why I practice as often as I can. I'm okay at it so far. Been doing it for a couple months x3

Nice, I want someone to show me in person one day. Tutorials online aren't always the greatest.

I hit up shows when I can. I've done Shambhala the last few years and a few random events over the years. Most of my buddies don't do the rave thing at all.

Actually, this is a great place to ask... where do you guys grab your music, and do you have any recommendations? My playlist is pretty played out these days and I need some good tunes to get me through the day

I am an expert at rave music. I need categories though before naming out artists. Happy Hardcore? House? Hardstyle? Trance? Etc? Any category you name off, and I'll give you a list of artists. =D

Haha, ok then! Buttrock/Metal goa... Hows that's for a sub-genre? Aside form that, I like trance, house, funky stuff. I'll even rock the hell out to cheesy stuff when the mood strikes me.  I'm Not a fan of dub. Drum and Bass is ok, but it has to be GOOD d&b.

I don't know any Buttrock or metal goa. Never heard of that genre lol.

The Rave scene where I am is for 16 under, it's guarded by the police and it's a place that children let there parents know where their hanging out. I have yet to find a Rave that was actually truly a rave lol. The only thing i'm scared about is the whole drug thing D:

Yeah alot of raves around here are more or less targeted at the clubbers >_<;; I heard the raves on the island are supposed to be really good though.
