Hey y'all,
I just moved to the island about four days ago now - I'm still settling into my place and getting everything organized, but I'd love to get to know the community up here as I do so! I'm right by UVic, where I'm gonna be studying for the next four years.
I just moved up here from Texas, where I'd worked for a year after finishing high school. I promise my accent isn't too obnoxious.
Um, other than all that, I'm a water opossum, pretty quiet guy, still testing the waters, seeing what I can get into and take part in. Hope to see you soon!
yo yo and yellow.
yeah, i've been thru texas, king of the hill is much more biographical of the people there than most realize, fun place to visit.
Water opossum? *looks it up* You learn something new every day.
Welcome, maybe come visit the mainland someday.
It's only like 40 bucks round trip - I'm fine with spending that on a trip over now and again. I'll definitely consider stoppin' by when I can. Also about the water opossum, don't mix us up with an otter-possum! The lutrine opossum has that field covered, water opossums are just wet opossums.
Welcome to the forums and van isle! I'm closer to mid island nanaimo myself but I'm sure you'll have fun down in Victoria ^.^ I used to live by camosun
I really like that avatar, Xanitos! I'm sure I will too, I'm eager to get settled and acquainted with the area. c:
Welcome to the island :D
Welcome to the island! Come on out to one of our events sometime and meet some of the locals.
I'd love to! Where can I find a list of what's goin' on? I'm currently mostly restrained to bus routes in the Victoria area. Anything weekly I should be looking forward to? Is there a group of people in charge of this stuff? Sorry for not knowin' more, I'm just eager to get involved! Thanks ahead of time.
The Vancouver Island Events board is the place to watch out for upcoming stuff. I wouldn't say there are weekly events but there's usually a couple things going on every month. I hold the Victoria monthly meets at mine and take responsibility for those, but nobody is formally in charge of the group out here since we all pitch in, organize events and help out wherever possible.

Yeah so let's all do the Canadian thing and be welcoming and when it comes to people not paint in broad strokes. Except for furries. That's usually a safe bet to assume the stereotype.
Heeyyyy! I'm originally a Texas fur as well. :3 Born and raised in NW Houston, Spring area. Though lived up in Austin for community college for a couple years before I bounced out. :D Nice to see a fellow Texan around!
