: This was put along my street!

Specifically, on the bike/pedestrian lane nearing the end of Glenayre Dr. in Port Moody where it reaches the top of Clarke.

They're about a metre or two apart and definitely not spray paint either, a fascinating choice among anything else that could be put. I guess it is the "City of the Arts" afterall!

Hah yeah! I actually saw this down near the end of the inlet too before Newport. It really is the little things in my journeys though that make them fun, and this certainly does that.

I like it. It looks like graffiti but it doesn't interrupt the flow of society. The message is still clean and prominent but it has a soft touch. I'm not saying do this to every bike lane but this, it makes me happy, brings some whimsical into life.

Very true Kohl, and the message agrees. I am not sure about the one near the inlet, but a subtle plaque was put on the grass next to mine, it is titled "Wild Ride" (2014) by Bradley Emsley.

The five bicycle lane vignettes that make up Wild Ride are a play on the idea of cycling as a "green" mode of transportation. In this case five animals native to the province of British Columbia go along for a ride. In the first vignette a grizzly bear begins to ride. He is soon joined by a deer, a great blue heron and a Pacific salmon and water-filled front basket. In the final vignette a beaver joins the group on the bear's back. This vignette shows that the longer a cyclist travels the lower the carbon footprint gets, and the better it is for both the environment and the animals that live in it.

A strong message. I've racked up easily 2000k in the last year on my road bike and it became like second nature after awhile to pick it up and "go", and opted for an electric bike and trailer recently to lug groceries or heavier things as an alternative to getting my long-procrastinated N (although I am going to in case a job requires minimal driving.)

Talking about creativity! It may be Canadian yet it is well thought out.
