WORK DESCRIPTION - The piece was started on a separate piece of paper to get the character design correct and approved. Once that was done I then transferred it on to the 90 bright "Opus Paper" for the final version. The piece was done using 3H, 2H, HB and 2B mechanical pencils in 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 sizes. The finished piece was then sprayed with a Krylon anti smudge Fixatif.
SCENE DESCRIPTION - With the recent record heat wave you have to wonder if Gritz would be laying out on the deck like this. The timing to release this artwork is appropriate due to it being the Dog Days of summer. Gritz commissioned me to do this piece when the last fur meet was held at the Dog House a few months ago. I took a couple of photos of the surrounding scenery that would be used in the background. In this picture you see a very scantily clad Gritz looking at the viewer. The background is real, the Dog House overlooks North Surrey, New Westminster, Burnaby and Coquitlam. All are suburbs that are east of Vancouver Canada, hence the Canadian flag towel that Gritz is laying on. You can blame me for putting a thong on this guy, he has a nice butt and thighs!
