Hey fuzzies/notfuzzies. Can someone suggest some decent mouse-only gaming? I've been amusing myself with Anno 2070 and Galciv, and XCOM. I could be casted for two months or more, however. Anyone have any suggestions? Nothing that requires simultaneous mouse/kryboard use or swift reactions.
Have you tried Endless Space? It's a spacefaring 4X game.
I've played a little bit of the older X-Com games. Ever since, I've wanted to do a game of my own with the engine they used...
Sadly there isn't many turn based games out there any more. I'd have to go through my collection of disks, see if I still have my copy of Heroes of Might and Magic game.
Thank you, Rue and Jim both; I'll look into Endless, and Jim, even if you find older games, I'd love to borrow them, as I don't shy from pixelgraphics and emulation. Right now, I'm short on things to do aside from sleep and eat and squirm to get comfortable
Civilization
Balder's Gate (HD version is out)
FTL
SpaceChem
Audiosurf
Woo, thanks! SpaceChem looks right up my alley.
Most of the paradox interactive games fit into this category. Only real thing that the keyboard is used for in those are quickly changing map modes, but that is also achievable via some buttons in the corner. If they aren't on sale at the moment, they are usually on sale during seasonal sales. When they go on sale, they're also in packs of several games. The series are usually made in different time periods and play differently, Crusader Kings is a medieval political dynasty simulator. Europa Universalis is a Renaissance to Napoleonic Wars political simulator that has a focus on Dynasties but only for monarchies and there isn't that much focus into it, just things like inheritance and pressing claims. Victoria is set during the early 1800's to the aftermath of the great war in the 30's, it's a game that is focused on the industrial revolution and colonialism, and lastly there's hearts of iron which is the world war 2 simulator that sometimes stretches to the cold war. It's probably the most complicated and while I have hundreds of hours on Paradox games and several dozen on Hearts of Iron, I still have no idea what the hell I'm doing in it.
The total war series of games is also really good for one handed play. They're large scale RTS's that are focused on battles and there are campaigns for it that are pretty free form in what they allow you to do. Should also wait for summer sales since they're on sale too and you can usually get all in the series for like twenty dollars.
Tropico Series. It's a country/city simulator with great humor, music, and is fun and easy to get into. You play as a tropical island dictator and deal with things such as rebels and funding an economy by exports such as bananas or tobacco.
One of the greatest deals I've ever found on the internet is this collection. http://www.gamersgate.com/DDB-DBAMC/dungeons-and-dragons-anthology-the-master-collection (http://www.gamersgate.com/DDB-DBAMC/dungeons-and-dragons-anthology-the-master-collection)
It's basically nearly all of the great isometric Interplay RPG's of the late 90s collected together aside from the Fallout series. You can play those with all one hand and it's six games. Baulders Gate 1 and 2, Planescape Torment, Icewind dale 1 and 2, and The Temple of Elemental Evil , Haven't played the last one.
