Good morning! (Yes, I typically greet people with "Good morning!"... even if it's after dark.) My name is Rex. Well, actually it's cyRex Wolf, but "Rex" is shorter and easier for people to remember. In theory.
I've been living on the Lower Mainland for almost a decade now. Since September 2004, actually. I first attended a furmeet in December 2004--it was the Christmas furmeet at RainRat's place. And for a long time, I attended a lot of the official vfur furmeets, even as I was attending university out in Abbotsford. I met a lot of people and made a lot of friends.
I lagged significantly in transitioning from the mailing list to the forums. Honestly, I don't like forums as much as I do mailing lists, but one must adapt with the times. I've mostly fallen out of sync with the Vancouver furry community, never mind the rest of the province. But maybe I'll reintegrate to some degree.
On the other side of things, I am heavily involved with RainFurrest, and have been since the very first year. I consider RainFurrest my home con, and it's always where the bulk of my effort will go. That's not to say I'm not supportive of other local events--I've helped out with Howloween and Vancoufur as well, though not as much as I may have liked to. A good portion of my effort in those events comes unofficially as I help out my friends and try to fill the gaps so they don't overwork themselves.
I'm generally fairly bad at writing introductions, to be honest. I'm much better at answering questions--and I like questions. I also like to talk at length (if you get me going), and I apologize in advance if I go on for too long.
