register with bchousing (office on kingsway near metrotown. same building as staples) tell them your desperate need. with child you get higher on wait list. good luck
Been there... that's how I got stuck where I'm at! I'm in a building run by the New Chelsea Society, which is a branch off of bc housing.
I dislike being trapped and where I am I'm trapped... it's set of my anxiety, panic attacks and insomnia since I've learned that they won't transfer me to another building due to safety concerns and such... I need doctors notes to be able to move and not just from my family doctor from specialists as well... It's horrid.
I believe people should be able to move after years of living in one place... I've been the perfect tenant according to the society and yet I still can't move...
I really dislike being trapped! I feel caged in and they are not giving warnings or letters to anyone when something is being repaired or changed... we have no laundry for 2-3 days and the only thing letting us in the building know that was the not on the laundry room door! It would have been nice to have warning so we could make arrangements before hand instead of at the last minute!
Sorry for the long post and rant I'm just done!
I recommend the new Chelsea society, they have some good family housing for a % of your income.
