Hey all, yes you read it right LIGHTSABER dueling/choreographed fighting!
at one of the bowling events I was wearing my Light-Staff (double bladed lightsaber) on my belt and a lot of people noticed, and some even know the company and model.
so I thought I would post this to see how many people are out there that might be interested in dueling/choreographed fighting. there will of course have to be rules made for safety and so everyone can have fun. I know a fair amount about sword play, though I am no expert. this is for all ages!
I will post where I got my saber which (unlike some) is MADE for dueling and fighting so you all can have a look. http://www.ultrasabers.com/ (http://www.ultrasabers.com/) (note you don't have to buy one to participate)
if this post gets even a few people interested I will try and plan an event for us to meet as a whole and talk more about it.
this post is more to see how many people are interested in something like this.
looking forward to your responses. :birdy:
I'd practice some slow play sword fighting with you.
Used to do livesteel, but I think that's a bit more full-contact than you might prefer. :3
Im up for learning, always wanted to. i used to make boffing sticks out of PVC, pipe insulators and duct tape :P they also work good for sparing and are quite inexpensive though not very balanced been thinking about putting weights in the handle to find the proper balance point.

I don't even like Star Trek and I want one of those, very cool!
Great to see some interest! Boffers are perfectly welcome, and would be good for beginners anyway. :-3
Realsteal is indeed a little more then I was looking for but anyone that is willing to kinda show some sword work and drills is most helpful and welcome.
The Ultrasabers are indeed very very cool! :birdy:
I will wait a little longer (see if anyone else is interested) and maybe after this next weekend I will make an event and we can all meet. we would probably just be hanging out and talking about what sorta thing we want to do, but I'm sure some drills and some sword swinging will occur.
I just have to say that I love the guy doing the commercials for each of the Ultrasaber varieties. He's like the Hank Hill Billy Mayes Hank Mayes of Starwars.
Emory is great! he is really funny in person, very cool dude.
I want to make this clear now though.
there was no intention to "commercial" or "advertise" for Ultrasabers, please feel free to mention any other sites/store that sell dueling sabers for the purposes of helping people find other sabers or sparing equipment.
sorry if this seems defensive, but I don't want this page shutdown due to a misunderstanding. :)
I have an Ultrasaber, love it and know they are very tough. I can't say anything about any other companies, as I don't know of any others that sell "dueling sabers"
So I have added a poll, trying to find what day works best for most people. please vote!
Can my lightsaber be made out of cardboard? I can still do sound effects. PSHHT ChsHi Chshi KRUSCHSHSCHSHSCH SCHU
cardboard might not be the best idea,
here try this http://www.thealmightyguru.com/Boffer/Boffer-Generic.html (http://www.thealmightyguru.com/Boffer/Boffer-Generic.html)
or
http://www.realmsofadventure.com/Boffer%20Weapon%20Construction%20Guide.pdf (http://www.realmsofadventure.com/Boffer%20Weapon%20Construction%20Guide.pdf)
Boffers are still cheap to make and will last much longer.

Let me know if you need help training people, I used to run classes on European Swordfighting,
These days I prefer to train with boffer swords, so no one gets hurt, lol

damm you're no fun.
My live steel days are behind me. I used to do something similar to "Fight Club"
Last opponent went into rage mode after losing, broke the rules and tried to cleave me in two with a Claymore while my back was turned! XD
Got my shield up in time, but the impact shattered it, and fractured my wrist.
Long story short, I lost my cool, disarmed him, dropkicked him in the chest, mounted him and went at his face with my chainmail gauntlets.
Don't remember much of it, scared myself a bit I suppose
Still have most of my armor, shield and swords, but they're mainly decorations at this point.
Anyone that's been to my place has seen the blood stained gauntlets, I refuse to clean them, just so I don't forget, lol
How's this coming along? I can do Saturday, noons.
looks as though Saturdays will be the day, I will set up an event soon and let you all know.

Sweet. Still totally game for this. Is Force Lightning banned or is it all game?
Is this like Boffing? lol I used to love playing sword fights with my friends when I was a kid ^^ pretty nostalgic that you make this post.
