As we are preparing for another great camping event for the year most of us are looking forward to different activities to perform. Sure, sitting around the campfire, share stories and enjoy great company is just the beginning. Last year though smaller group dispersed and went onto different excursions be it to an abandoned quarry, view the Othello Tunnels or simply do sightseeing in Hope.
Yet there are also great activities you can perform at the camping site whether it is a group game or a sports activity with different teams.
You can brainstorm on activities, whether you want to make a trip a few kilometers up the highway or have a great idea for a game. You can also bring initiative and lead an activity.
Possible Suggestions:
Capture the flag. (Possibly with nerf guns if everyone is ok with losing most of their ammo in the woods ><) a classic.
See who has a real set of stones with...Inukshuk Engineering Challenge
(http://babiesandbruschetta.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/inukshuk.jpg)
See who can build the most impressive stone statue out of river rocks!
Spin the squirrel. Get a wild squirrel and spin it in a circle - whoever it bites, gets a free ambulance ride and tetanus shot!
Ooh, definitely down to go see the Othello tunnels, they're so cool.
if you plan to check out the Othello tunnels make sure to dress warmly!!!! dat shit be cold as fug
I will most likely be fursuiting through the tunnels again (weather permitting) That was a lot of fun, and no worries about staying warm X3
Lol that sounds epic, but sounds like it could get dirty!!
The Othelllo Tunnels are a grea experience and Duffy knew well how to fursuit through the tunnels.
You have some good ideas Irish Lion, get the flag yet getting enough nerf guns may be a challlenge.
Build rock structure either by the river or by the campsite sounds fun.
Using a squirell might be a tad dangerous, let's use a bottle instead.

the nerf guns were a semi-joke - unless some rich fur with a bajillion nerf darts shows up.....
although, if someone has LASER/LAZER-tag equipment....... that could be a blast.... (any volunteers on that front?)
The inukshuk thing could be a fun 'after dinner' campfire game while having a few drinks by the river. build a few handy piles before hand, choose teams, etc.
The squirrel is mandatory. there is no avoiding the squirrel.
The inukshuk would be a better experience 1-2 hours before dinner. Before it gets dark and we are having a beer.
After dinner we would need a game right be the campsite. Truth or dare is one suggestion.
wereman..... truth or dare? do you know how many people we would have being dared to strip naked and jump in the river?
Sounss crazy anf fun, i might go.

Well, it's up to our judgment whether we are letting it happen. As long as non looses hir/her dignity. Yet it is an entertaining game.

I have 10 assault-rifle style laser tag guns, up to 5 people on 2 teams, or free-for-all.

That could be a possibility, make sure your equipment is strong/weather resistant and if battery operated you have enough power in the guns to hold a series of games.

6 hours a gun on a set of AA's, and these are sturdy guns.
Okay, that may work, check with Gizmo. Make sure you keep track of them, label each one with your name etc.
Thank you for helping out on that.
A friendly game of predator prey would be fun :D

yes yes but with animals such as the hunter would be wolf and the prey would be rabbit

and why not the rabbit be the hunter and the wolf be the prey? just to mess things up a bit.
hide and go seek tag in the dark >=) have a safe zone that the hiders have to get to before the seekers catch them
Also Werewolf =) I think we played it the first year, and it was pretty good =3
There has been a lot of talk about having a video projector brought and shoot a movie up on a white sheet hanging from the trees ... anyone got a projector / white sheet / sound system(?) that could be transported to the wilderness? I have the power and the popcorn ...

I has a projector, would need the speakers.

I'm sure we can help with popcorn also. ;3

Seems like we have a projector and this weekend, secured a sound system. Popcorn, as some of you may already know, is my middle name so got that covered. Now I need a large white sheet and it looks like we are good to go ...

i thinks i gots a sheet
We have several activities listed up and possibly more to come.
Truth or dare might be a risky, card games always welcome. Building stone figures by the river is a great idea.
Projecting a movie will be a great idea, seems we can pull it off. Yet I was under the impression this is an event where everyone is escaping the great technological advances of human civilization :P.
I'm thinking of Werewolf, Buddy. If this is the game you have to guess who the werewolves are and each night one villager is killed. Recently played it at Rainrat's game night.
We also have one wedding, most likely to be held Saturday.
And then there is the group picture to be held Saturday or Sunday before or after breakfast.
I'd also like to remind everyone that I have, and intend to bring, my much beloved Drinking Jenga game. With simple, friendly, rules it's perfect for close friends and strangers. No stripping, no truth or dare, just a lot of laughs and a lot of drinking! I'll be bringing some rum for shots, and maybe a six-pack, but you'll need to bring your own drinks ;) :highfive: ;D
