OK! I have discussed it with Gizmo and this thread will be open for entries into the "Design the Campfur 2013 T-shirt" contest.
This years theme is Luau (Hawaii!) so entries that incorporate this theme will most likely be given the most consideration.
The prize for having your design chosen is as follows:
1. I will be donating 1 of the shirts printed in the chosen design to the winner.
2. Gizmo will issue the winner with a $25.00 credit towards purchase of your CampFur attendance package.
So, if you win, it will only cost you $25.00 to go and you get a shirt! Or it will be $25.00 cheaper to get either the sponsor or patron levels and then you get TWO shirts!
All designs will be judged by Gizmo in a method of his choosing. It may or may not involve fire.
You may either post your finished design in this thread or private message them to Gizmo personally to keep your awesome entry a secret!
If you are going to field an entry - please make a post here just to keep track of how many entries are to be expected.
My apologies to anyone who was affected by earlier confusions - these have been sorted out and I hope that the new contest runs smoothly!

I will be fielding an entry in the contest myself so I won't be judging anything however I am looking for assistance in completing my shirt design. I need a bust style character face to go in the center of the shirt in a stencil (line drawing) style. Species doesn't matter as long as it's a definitively outlined image that I can overlay onto the shirt. If you are interested in this (the shirt is complete except for the face) please send me a private message with any questions.
If you submit an image to me for the shirt and I use it, should the design win, the artist who drew the image will receive the prize in its entirety.
That's right, you will get both the shirt and the $25.00 off CampFur attendance fees.
Half the work and all the prizes!

I thought I'd get the ball rolling - here is what I am working on currently. It is missing a Char. portrait for the front (as mentioned above) and not sure how the shoulder/paw thing will look when it's finished but yeah! I can't wait to see other peoples ideas :)

If an imagehost is needed I've been using imgur.com (http://imgur.com) which is free and has code links for message boards on upload.
Here are the t-shirt limitations - as set out by the printer:
Each design can be a maximum size of 11.5 inches wide x 15 inches tall.
Design should be at least 300dpi at the full print size.
Preferred file types are .AI, .PSD or .TIF but we can work with almost any Photoshop/Illustrator compatible file type.
Submitted file should be flattened with any fonts converted to outlines or rasterized.
Irish Lion, I like the bottom one with the paw, you might consider adding more color to it to give it the Hawaiian feel.

The paw will be colored in the final design I submit.
I personally am looking for a character drawing to add into the design I'm currently working on, a couple of people have PM'd me expressing interest but I haven't received any completed chars. yet. I am, at this moment, transferring the image you saw above into a template fitting the dimensions Gizmo provided and cleaning up the lines, etc.
We are also welcoming full shirt designs to make sure we can have a rocking T-Shirt for Campfur.
Gizmo is going to pick the one he likes best at the end. I'm just in this for fun and practice which is why I'm not going to win anything should my design be chosen.

Ok folks - it's Mid-April.
gizmo mentioned having things finished up by the end of this month so I thought I'd pop in for a status update to make sure we have everything set up in time for Printing!
I've mostly finished up the background for my entry into the dimensions giz mentioned but I have not heard back from who pm'd me regarding character sketches.
If you're still around, and interested, pm me or post here and let me know, because i accidentally deleted your message and cannot for the life of me remember your name... :/ I've been trying to do my own, just in case, but nothing that suits the theme has sprung forth.
Star had a promising sketch earlier, hows that coming? :)
The more options available the better. Perhaps gizmo would be amenable to a vote amongst those attending, for their favorite design, to ensure those getting the shirts will enjoy wearing it :)

Essentially, you have summed up what I have ... I have your incomplete entry. Not sure where to turn from here. Being in a furry community of artists, I really didn't think this was gonna be a challenge to come up with something.

There is one aspect I failed to mention previously, my only concern are the proportion of the body as the legs feel particularly short. Depending on your skills and Photoshop possibilities, please advise whether it is possible to draw the legs longer. Yet I will let Irish Lion judge whether it is something to consider.

The proportions are actually perfect. I drew her body fully before the banana skirt. You are not taking into account of how a hula dancer moves. I watched two hours of hula dancing and dancers. Her legs are perfect. I even showed a few perfectionists before I drew the skirt. Her legs are in motion and not straight up and down, her hips are jutting to one side, her body is contorting to another side. Thank you for your concern but her legs are just fine.

you may also want to take into account what her height is and the fact she is partially digidigrade. :-3

Okay...Seriously... I am NOT impressed. There has been no updates but what IRISHLION has put up on the first post. As far as I know the theme was originally "There's Always Hope" then people wanted "Beyond Hope". Then I heard nothing else. Then I get this in the mail:

This year's theme is "Time to get Leh'd" and I suggest you to add this at the bottom of your design. In the hope you can update your design accordingly, use of color works very well.

Well it won't let me post an image like the t-shirt one. It says that the memory or something is full. It says that any time I try to attach something. It isn't a hotlink it's a simple [img] thing that is in the list of things I can use and the only way to show the image.

Thank you Wereman. The paw on the shoulder turned out to be too difficult/expensive in the end so that had to be tossed out.
Also Gizmo is responsible for some of this as he made some design alteration requests after I showed him my final idea.
Some changes had to be made due to the printer dropping out last minute and having to find a new (better) shirt printer with different requirements but they were fairly minor (resolution/filesize) requests.
After making the necessary changes, here is the result:

I went to the printers and saw several different mini versions of it printed out on a shirt. We chose the best looking one and I too can't wait to see it full sized.
The shirts seem to be a nice high quality cotton and their printer setup was impressive. I have high hopes for the finished product.
They also offered a selection of bamboo shirts (which felt freakin awesome) but they were way more expensive.
