Whilst browsing the forums i saw Cynder's topic on asking if anyone did glowstick/Poi stuff.. So this got me thinking "Hey, i bet you there has to be some other furry shufflers around here too".
I hear its still rather popular in Vancouver, but in the almost 3 months of me getting into this style of dancing i have only met one other person that does here in Victoria.. Them also being furry surprisingly but i haven't seen them since the day i met them almost a month ago.
So are there any other foot draggers around here?
When you said shufflers I thought you meant zombie RPing :P

BRAAAAAAAAINSSS
I do a little bit of the t-step, but nothing really crazy.
Just to touch base here. Were you by chance one of the ones shuffling at one of Mikomi's get togethers?
Haha yes im the one who allways starts dancing by the tv randomly :P
Lol, I kinda figured.
I always wish I knew how to shuffle, but never found myself a suitable teacher to teach me, and tutorials don't exactly help me.
I thought this was a problem too Wrath but after reading in ALOT on it there are only 3 basic moves (if you want all of them to even be incorperated that is) that you need to learn and from there you can create your own/watch others and try to mimic their movements. I just found that after i got good at running man, T-step, a basic slide (pretty much one step of the 2 steps it takes to moonwalk), and just moon walking in general that messing around between the movements will give you some surprising results. I learned pretty much all of my moves by accident and then just repeated them until it became a natural move.
The tutorials are not of much help but just getting the basic movements down took me over a month. If you keep trying you will defiantly get it ;D
Oi. I'm one of them furry fellahs that glide n' slide n' shuffle around. But yea. :3 I do.
ok i admit i am old so i have to ask, by shuffler do you mean a hoofer? like Gene Kelly in "singing in the rain"? or more commonly referred to as a dancer?
I know that there are only a couple basic moves in Shuffling. I've done my research.

It's a particular type of club dancing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne_Shuffle
I center my shuffling around the original "Melbourne Shuffle" But i dont do hardstyle alot because its so energy consuming. Mainly just smooth shuffle to progressive trance and some occasional house tunes. All depends on the mood of the day really.
Neelix Shuffle - Ask the right questions (really this time) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTID-YXawy0#ws)
I'm one of those people. I've been shuffling for roughly three years. I have a pretty old video of my shuffling on my profile :3 I really should film a new one though. A lot has changed since then. :highfive:
You should Zyth! I ordered some Phat pants awhile ago and they are finally showing up sometime next week. I might have to post up a vid for kicks as well.
is there going to be a panel to teach how to do the shuffle? if so let me know where and when?
Just got my shuffle pants today and was super excited so i made a video. Quality is kinda bad because its inside and have improper lighting, but i still couldnt resist making a video :P
First phat pants shuffle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6PGuvwDXVU#)
If anybody did want to learn i would be glad to help in any way that i can. I still don't know everything but thats whats great about this dance. Possibilities are endless and you make the dance your own after you learn the basics.
made one with alot better quality today, its nice to have more space to work with..
Three month shuffle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=autu2jmmxzA#ws)
Woah nice! You shuffle a lot better than most people do with only 3 months of practice.
As soon as my toe heals up, I'll definitely be filming another video :P Where did you get your phats btw?
Thanks ^^ I got them from AlternateGear.Eu (at least i think its Eu) They were $185 and they surpassed my expectations by miles. Very comfortable, they even have this very soft inner lining, along with elastic waist line for if you get bigger/smaller (Or perhaps are wearing a fursuit.. *shifty eyes*) and they have all the regular pockets pants have along with two zipper pockets in the front ones so that your things wont fall out. a great buy in my opinion. I just got them 3 days ago. Oh and they come with free matching suspenders also. You can customise any design they have with your own colours (including the suspenders) for no additional charge. I would defiantly recommend them t anyone who wants a good pair.
I practice shuffling every day (excluding the occasional leg recovery day) for 15-45 minuites being on either hardwood, or preferred pavement/asfault. Now that i dont have a motorcycle anymore i needed a new hobby.. i dont know how i got so obsessed with it, but i love that when im shuffling i think of nothing at all. Just like the motorcycle, without all the near death experiences :P
Zythren Y u no post shuffle video ;~; i dun wanna be the only one trying to keep this barely breathing thread alive x3
A taste of whats to come at the Rainfurrest dance comp! thankfully theres a few more months to practice. >~>

I KNOW. you should see how many are down here in the middle of summer. seems every civic in town is at the beach at the show and shine events, every 15 mins you can hear a custom muffler blaring down that way and they all look like those little cars. And thanks too! x3
