Roy is a lovely man :)
Already connected with that one and only lol
Oh lol he should be able to introduce you to everyone, they have movie nights and what not
yes...yes...this 'Roy' fellow... You should talk to him, I hear he causes quite frequent Shenanigans...a little bit of debauchery, and all around is a horrible person
I would strongly Recommend speaking with him if you would forever like your life changed for the worse!
:-3 :P
hehe...so I am this Roy they are talknig about. Pleased to meet you. feel free to PM me here, email me at crazykidoncrack@hotmail.com , or Add me on Skype at Kittiboi1. if you happen to use MSN messenger, my email works for that (I did the combine skype and MSN thing recently, I'm usually on them.
Just wanted to stick my head in and say... moving to Prince George next month, too.

Nah, its not cold. it's only like...-5 at night. T-Shirt weather :P

Same goes to you too. I love meeting new people, so feel free to contact me if you would like to chat sometime. :3
Another newcomer to Prince George in the not too distant future... Moving from Europe to Canada towards the end of June and PG is where my spouse got university admission, so that's where we're headed.
Until then I'd be available on Skype if someone feels like chatting about whatever. Trying to kick myself in the butt to become a bit more social, as I'm an introverted loner by nature. :)
Living here now!
... they do plan to paint lines on the roads someday, right?
Paint lines on the road? That's fancy big city talk! We don't take kindly to fancy big city talk!
Seriously though...I am born and raised in pg. I think I learned that there was supposed to be lines on The road when I was like 20, and drove out of town for a vacation...it frightened me that there were lines...
Agreed with kittiboi - I grew up on the "Rez" in Kispiox Village. Lines are unusually legit within PG. Our weather is too rough to urbanise well lol
: ScaredSacred April 23, 2013, 06:43:06 -06:00
Living here now!
... they do plan to paint lines on the roads someday, right?
the law says that you are entitled to drive on one half of the road. use the lines as a guide to follow and drive on the middle half of the road. everyone else will get out of your way when they see you coming. be careful of that one jerk that is playing with his ipod and doesn't see you.
when you see lines on the road it DOES NOT mean to stop and get out to have a snort.
: tokar April 24, 2013, 12:02:08 -06:00
when you see lines on the road it DOES NOT mean to stop and get out to have a snort.
o.o ...I now understand why people keep looking at me weird. All. The. Time.
When there's intersections and there's six lanes of traffic, everyone seems to be driving with the Force or something... THEY can see the lines, all I see is a parking lot that just so happens to connect to a highway. It's a little twitchy! *twitch twitch*
What have I gotten myself into... PG must be very exciting, when lines on the street, painted or imaginary, are the hot topic. ;D
I may be moving to pg in a few months for work. Maybe i will see some of you soon
: Skallagrim May 14, 2013, 06:25:45 -06:00

Honestly...no one cares about the fact that there's no line (side note: WTF THEY PAINTED VICTORIA ST....I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO THERE ANYMORE!!!) it's the potholes.
One tip for driving: if the person in front of you swerves, and you see nothing in front of them...copy them, you will not regret missing that huge pot hole...
but PG isn't all bad. we are #1 in so many ways! #1 in Canada for crime 2 or 4 years in a row, and for 2 years in a row, we have had the #1 worst road in Canada!
...GO PRINCE GEORGE We're number 1!!! :D

Isn't that what they usually say down in 'Murica? You know, including being best at the worst things. :)

Isn't that what they usually say down in 'Murica? You know, including being best at the worst things. :)
I feel that it's still better than being down on your own hometown :P
Ah, hometown patriotism... I see. :)
Seriously though, I think it's funny that the people I've seen talk about PG so far were typically baffled by the status of Canada's most dangerous city. I suppose it's mainly just because of the gang activity in "da hood"?
Yeah. Most of the time if you don't do stupid stuff, you're fine in this town. The main reason that there is so much crime is 'cause two major highways intersect in PG and well, the drugs gotta get from city to city somehow...
Fair enough. In any case I'm absolutely looking forward to the move. Very excited to finally get to Canada. The flight will be tiresome and it's freaking expensive, but definitely worth it.
Well, I hope you like my country! And if you don't, we will apologize profusely to you! :p
Also, prince George is really pretty in the summer. I recommend going to the ancient forest at some point, and it's so beautiful, as well as going for a hike at forests for the world(the forest around the university). Such a nice walk!
Yes, I've heard about Canadian politeness... Hopefully I won't come across as too rude by comparison, especially since I don't care much for social norms and prefer to be bluntly honest. :)
Yeah, the ancient forest is definitely on my list.
Don't worry! If you're rude, we will just apologize to you...then we will say "eh" and drink some maple syrup with our pet beavers, while riding our dog sleds past moose! :p
: Kittiboi May 18, 2013, 11:54:22 -06:00

kittiboi lies. we don't drink maple syrup, we sip it. the only ones that have pet beavers are straight boys or lesbians. and dog sleds are used for old style racing. most use snowmobiles now - they go faster so the moose can't catch us.
The only time you won't apologize is if I said something bad about a Canadian hockey team, eh? ;D

You just don't understand! You're not from the north!! Lol
And yes, we canucks riot over hockey in Canada!! (too soon? :p )
I thought when Canadians riot they just hold up signs saying "I am mildly displeased". Or if they are really angry they might spray "F-Word" on a wall.
Heh. Not on a hockey riot!! Seriously, look up the Vancouver riot after the Canucks lost the Stanley cup a few years back...lots of violence there
Yes, I've seen that. Crazy stuff... Sports fans all over the world can get into an insane violent frenzy over the score of some game. Competitive sports and war share many common features, so I guess it's not necessarily surprising.
It makes me so mad, that I just want to start a riot!!! :p

we might be a polite nation but we can put out like the rest of them. reference the hockey riot. and when we get angry we are not so polite.
Funniest riots ever!!!
*punch someone in the face*. "sorry!!"
*light a car on fire* "my bad! Sorry!"
Lol

I know it's just the general stereotype, not everyone is like that, and definitely not all the time. It's a nice, positive one though, much better than the USA stereotype of the dumb racist redneck...
Heh. I like the canadian stereotype! It's awesome!
Sorry aboot Kittiboi's extreme happiness ;), I think he may have gotten very excited (as we do with new people eh)
too cheesy? I dunno.....
Hey, I'm not part of the anti-happiness special forces, so no problem. Although I've encountered plenty of grumpy Germans in my life I try not to be like that. There is even a specific German word for that, which I don't think exists in any other language: "Spassbremse" (literally "fun brake"). :)
Heh. Fun break...English has a few words like that..."killjoy" and "buzzkill"
Ah yes, of course, I totally forgot about "killjoy". That would be the right translation for sure.
A little bit of a violent term for sure...must come from Germany! :p
: Kittiboi May 19, 2013, 01:48:34 -06:00

@ kittiboi
fun break - to take a break and have fun or break me off a piece of that kit kat bar
fun brake - to put a stop to having fun to put on the brakes
to stop a car you hit the brakes, to stop work or studies you take a break
spelling makes a big difference in what you mean

With regards to this there were murmurings of a group of people utilizing the mob's emotional state to incite them to unnecessary violence. A cadre of similarly clad individuals all over downtown Vancouver with the same (or similar) face masks moving in and out of the crowds starting incidents. (E.G - setting cars on fire, smashing windows)
I'm not excusing the crowds for their behavior but when you are caught up in that kind of setting the swelling peer pressure can cause you to act against your own nature simply out of survival. If 9 out of 10 people around you (number 10 ) start flipping a car over and begin to look at you funny, you might throw in a hand so they don't throw you under the bus. Literally.
Nothing ever came of any investigation into it, as far as I am aware, as no I.D's were made (public at least) and they of course were nowhere to be found when the chaos ended.
So if anything was ever done about that it was done quietly and behind the scenes.

something was done and quite publicly. over 100 people have been charged. many have been on the news when their trials came up. a website was setup to help the police identify those guilty of rioting. someone should pay more attention to the news
So....... back in PG, I see that our weather has been getting a lot better :D
Time to tan soon and meet and greet folks who travelled up yonder.
Kittiboi - a bbq maybe!?
No! Camping!!!! Preferably while dressing up medeival, shooting archery, and getting drunk around the campfire!! Woooooooo! I can't wait until fog this year!!! Good friends reunited!!! (also I may be (read 'very') drunk right now).
Sooooooloo excited for SCA eventing season this year!
Also this post makes sense to me right now, but when I sober up, I am going to laugh and not know what the f-word is going on right now...
Hello! How are you?
Classic Kittiboi <3
Heheh people love me, despite my many many many flaws as a person, and that makes me happy.
<3 right back to ya chance!
<3 to everyone right now!!!!!!

Camping, medieval dress up and archery sound great to me. Too bad that I dislike being around drunk people though. Guess that's a bit of a pet peeve of mine... and typically one that makes others go "Huuhhh, wut? What's your problem?"

Eh, drinking comes after archery. If you drink and attempt to shoot a bow, you'll get kicked out. I personally have never shot a gun, but a few friends of mine used to shoot at a gun range, and from what they tell me, archery is much more difficult to do.

Safety first, that's right. As far as archery being more difficult, that's definitely true when we're talking long arms, as shooting a rifle is really easy. Handguns are a different story. Shooting a pistol or revolver accurately requires a lot of practice, just like archery.

Also, I found out I am creepy!!! Yay! Life long goal = accomplished!!
Some people are just creeped out by things and personalities they don't understand.
And some are creeped out by the kitty that twerks every day for a couple of weeks at work...
Finally made the trip across the big pond, yay! The first impression of PG is pretty good. So many super friendly people around here... makes Germans and Norwegians seem like grumpy misanthropes in comparison.

Definitely a wise decision to avoid the hood...also, welcome to prince George! You'll get used to the smell.
So far I have no idea what smell people are talking about. Is that only at certain times of the year? Haven't really noticed anything weird yet.
There is several pulp mills here, and every once in a while they release a rotten egg smell. Its not all the time, but it can be pretty bad. Most of the time it depends on the area you are in...for example by the jail (on the edge of town, heading east) is almost always stinky, as there is like 3 or 4 mills nearby, but college heights (west side of pg) has nothing and never stinks. You'll smell it eventually lol

Alrighty, something to look forward to then, I guess...
By the way, if you wouldn't mind playing tour guide for us ignorant, easily confused Europeans, let me know. ;) Would be nice to come into contact with people around here. And as I see you're interested in archery and medieval reenactment there may be potential for like-mindedness. :)
I would be more than happy to show ya around this place! I am pretty busy for the next little bit, but I can definitely give ya a tour sometime
Yeah, we're also still pretty busy, getting furniture, taking care of official stuff. Just feel free to send me a message whenever you got some time on your hands.
Free this weekend I'll be free. I'm going out of town to visit a few friends ovr the weekend lol. Tuesday I'll be free

if you do not know about it yet, keep your eye on ... http://princegeorge.en.craigslist.ca/ (http://princegeorge.en.craigslist.ca/) .....
this is a good site to find almost anything you may need. always check the free section. you might also want to check http://groups.freecycle.org/freecyclepg/description (http://groups.freecycle.org/freecyclepg/description)
you have to register for the second one but it is strictly the giving and asking for items that are free. most items such as a bed or couch will be cleaner and in better condition from this site. you should be able to furnish your place using these two site within one month. ask for it and someone will give it to you.
good luck
Thanks for the suggestions! I have checked Craigslist frequently but I was not aware of Freecycle.
Kajiji is another good one, and a few of my friends use the prince George but and sell facebook page a lot. The buy an sell is also a publication that goes out weekly, and I assume they have a webpage lol

Hey, I care! I always enjoy meeting new people :3 Im kittiboi, probably the only fur in PG who's actually active on this forum! It'd be fun to hang out sometime if your interested.
though I am gonna be really busy for the next little bit, but after things settle for me, I'm up for hanging out
Also, the Moose are in hiding...they know too much and are in witness protection...
I think Kittiboi is right about furs in PG who are active on the forum. Not much going on in that regard, in seems. I haven't been very active myself, admittedly. Anyway, welcome to PG!
Early this year I remember there was a newspaper article about a moose licking off the salt on cars.
I would be more active if there were things to do... but howdy, and welcome to PG!
I've seen about 30 foxes, still no meese. What a rip-off.

You have to be 'experienced' to see the moose (Seriously the plural of moose is moose...what the F**k is wrong with English?!?) I've only ever seen about 6 or 7 moose in PG, and I've lived here 25 years...
We should plan to meet up for coffee or something. all of us. I've never met you in person ScaredScared....
Haha, moose never come near PG in Bowl area. However, if you travel or go hiking a lot, you'll have a better idea of where to look for moose.
I came from Kispiox Village off the northwest coast where "meese" often walked in the village or hung out on the highways lol
I saw one near the airport earlier this year - more or less, kittiboi is right experienced eyes are key to spotting a moose hiding in plain sight!

I forgot how gloomy and dirty Prince George is.
And I'm one of those weirdos with a fursuit.
It probably won't leave my closet.
But, hello fellow northern folk.
I'm back xD
Welcome Back Orion! It may be gloomy and dirty, but at least we have sun! I was in Edmonton last weekend, and it snowed there all weekend...

I think I may actually be on skype after work tonight (probably closer to 9-9:30). havent had a chance to use it in almost 2 weeks lol. Which is weird as I usually am on it daily....
Hey, I think I saw you at Canada Day at Fort George Park! :D
You probably did see him. Probably saw me too if you stopped by the medieval booth in the afternoon :p
I did indeed! Reminded me of my clobberin' days. I was called "The Brute Squad". Good times.
Medieval club is always a good time! :P
Oops, I just revived a second one with a google search instead of realizing there was a new one. Havn't had a chance to go through all these pages, but I'm hoping to find furs around the Quesnel area if there area any.
Hope to be back at some point to see. :)
-Seph
Hey Lady Serpent.
I am not sure if there are any furs in Quesnel specifically. I do know that Pentara (shinigamikitsune on the forums here) is from Quesnel, and heads back there from time to time to visit family. she may also know if there are others there, though I doubt that she does. it may be worthwhile to PM her.
also, if ya find yourself in Prince George, there's a lot of us here, so let us know and someone should be able to hang out for coffee or something. :)
Thanks Kittiboi; I'll keep an eye out. :)
Hey yall ... Not too sure how many of you will read this before I have come and gone but I will be in P.G this weekend taking a driving class. Anyone want to meet up for noms or play some magic cards or show me the local cool spot to hang out in the evening let me know.
