Cross posted to my LJ and FA journals....
This will date me but it may be interesting for those of you who don't know this about me. My first exposure to anything with "funny animals" or furry related themes was Kimba the White Lion. While taking my afternoon break from arting I found one of my all time favorite episodes. I remember watching this Saturday mornings when I was quite young and I figured I would share it. This was done back in the time when anime had to rely more on story than spiffy visuals. Running time for the whole episode is around 25 minutes....and I love that theme song!
*Pay attention to the tall hyena bad guy that shows up from time to time... that was the first version of my fursona!

Anybody else remember this? , What was it that got you into furry?
I never watched that show actually but it certainly has been a big party in a lot of furries lives for their conversion. I too, was converted due to anime (and a few other things) but It was mostly due to those damn catgirls. They were addicting. Once I branched off into furry though I just though of catgirls as overdone and annoying...although still cute but not considered furry in my book.
looks awesome, i want to see more of this ^^

My Turn - Just look for "Kimba the White Lion" eps on You Tube... although these are mostly the North American releases that were edited for content. The original Japanese versions were deemed too violent by the FCC and CRTC to be aired in North America. The result was that many episodes were re recorded by American voice actors and the theme song was altered for American and Canadian release.

My Turn - For those of us who are older it was a big influence, especially when it was being rebroadcast in the early 1970's around the same time that Disney came out with the Animated "Robin Hood". I didn't really get into the cat girl thing as I was still hooked on Kimba, Astro Boy to a lesser degree and of course Speed Racer and Battle of the Planets. When I first got online and hung around in chat rooms I saw a LOT of cat girl characters. A lot of the time they RP'd with each other because most furs didn't see them as furs... I have to admit to feeling the same way they are basically humans with cat features... female InuYashas if you will.

I have watch some episodes from kimba it is rather an interesting little anime^^
I am quite familiar with all the series you show in your post, more so with TMNT and Gargoyles. My friend Chance Wolf use to have a basement full on TMNT collectibles from action figures to posters, plushes and all kinds of other turtle brickabrack. I used to watch Gargoyles pretty religiously until it went off the air, I really liked the way they put in voice talent from Star Trek the Next Generation, (Miriana Sirtis and Johnathan Frakes for example.)
