hey guys
I've been looking at a few Fursuit construction tutorials online and the more I look at them the more it encourages me into wanting to give it a try though a few questions do come up
I am a glasses wearer and know that if made properly I can wear my glasses inside the head without them fogging up too much but what sort of advice would you guys suggest when it comes to the eyes?. I did want to do a "Follow me" eye since that seemed easy enough to do from the tutorial and I love the Illusion it creates but would I run into problems with the follow me when it comes to spacing for being able to wear glasses? I was thinking a properly positioned fan in the muzzle should help with the fogging but I was leaning towards being able to actually drink with the assistance of a straw or nom the occasional snack while keeping the head on but in a way that my actual mouth isn't visable (I do want to have a moving jaw)
Also where would you guys suggest I go to get the foam? I'm not looking for a high grade but I am looking for something easily workable and is a reasonable price.
I decided to try making the feet first since that looked easy enough to do from the tutorial I was reading online is there anything that I really need to be aware of that might be a problem? I'm wanting to learn and I think starting at the feet should give me a good taste test to see if it's something I like doing or not depending on how it would go
thoughts and any advise for someone who hasn't done it before but wanting to try it out would be much appreciated :-3
I guess you could do a bit of digging around in here for a start:

Ive asked some similar questions on the forum before so if you want alot of good useful information check out

as per your questions directly related im not sure for glasses, may just need to cut out a little extra foam to allow room for them but as for foam I've heard good things about The Foam Shop @ Burnaby, #302 - 3815 East 1st Ave (East 1st and Boundry) (they just moved to this location) where apparently you can get foam scraps for cheapish, haven't gone myself yet but when i get money. ive seen people with fans in the muzzle to keep air circulation and have a moveable jaw with the ability to drink/munch whilst wearing their head so it should be possible.
good luck hope this helps ^^
When you make the head definitely make sure there is ventilation of some form. My home-made fursuit I have an opening at the back of the mouth where I can breath fairly well. I haven't figured out the glasses thing yet, I usually suit without my glasses on (yay blind suiting!)
And I agree with you, feet are a good place to start, if you're gonna stumble at the start it's better on the feet than, say, on the head!
Goodluck, sorry I don't have many other tips or advice. For me it was a matter of just going for it and trying. Though, I will say the FurAffinity forums has a good link collection of helpful tutorials and where to get the best supplies:

well thank you guys your links have been indeed helpful and some of those things I will do (like getting a low tempature hot glue gun :-3)
Luckily my mother was a seamstress and we do have two good quality sewing machines here (what brand I honestly don't know) if only I can convince my mother in teaching me how to sew if I'm lucky but she works alot so don't know how that will go
You do know contact lenses exist for the sole purpose that you don't have to wear glasses.
If you are looking for tutorials you can check out deviantart as they have A LOT of tutorials for absolutly every tiny little part of the suit. Another site that is good, as they give detailed step by step information, is instuctables. Though they do not have a very large amount of fursuit tutorials as it is a tiny sliver of the sewing category. Also don't forget, youtube is your best friend.

I know that they exist and my retinas are Permanently scared from wearing contact lenses though those were the monthly lenses that it happened and I was very lucky that it didn't damage my eyesight further still doesn't change the fact that I've got scars on my eyes because of that. Luckily I can wear Daily lenses though I know the head can be made so that I don't have to wear lenses which is where I was trying to get at with my head construction.
I know I do wear daily lenses for when I play hockey which anyone who play sports would know that it's much better then dealing with fogging lenses
Thank you though for the suggestion I have already considered that as a possible alternative if push comes to shove and thank you for the suggestion to look at Deviant art which I havent yet so I'll be sure to take a peek over there for some more pointers ;D
