So I've recently started a new hobby, mixing drinks. I'm going to be doing some fairly elaborate concoctions that require a bit of prep work. Making my own syrups...etc. Just wonder if anyone has any ideas for drinks that they've found over time that they've really enjoyed that might be worth learning.
Next one I'm going to try is a Purple heart:
60ml Reposado Tequila
30ml Pure Blueberry juice
22ml Fresh Lime Juice
7ml Lavender Syrup
Garnish with lime zest
Kyroo
It's certainly not as elaborate as your first drink but I've always been a fan of the Grenadine tequila sunrise- it's quite fun to make, and you can always garnish it with an orange and cherry sword xP
That'll work nice since i'm working on tequila right now. Won't have to go bottle shopping to try it ;D
I'm going to do vodka and rye next I think, had a hankering for some grey goose recipes.
I came up with a pretty good drink mix that's served me very well!
- 1 glass of whiskey
- 1 or 2 ice cubes (optional)
Screaming Orgasm:
1 oz vodka
1 1/2 oz Bailey's® Irish cream
1/2 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
Pour first vodka, then Bailey's, then Kahlua into a cocktail glass over crushed ice. Stir.
Use only high quality vodka. Cheap vodka can cause the Bailey's to curdle. Test your brand of vodka by mixing 1 Tsp each of vodka and Bailey's first.
Or my favorite elaborate drink: The Bush Wacker
4 oz cream of coconut
2 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
1 oz Bacardi® black rum
1 oz dark creme de cacao
4 oz milk
Combine ingredients with two cups of ice in a blender. Blend until smooth, and serve up in two 12 oz cups.
And my everyday drink: G&T Tj Style
3 oz Gilbeys Gin
1 can of Tonic Water
1 Large slice of Lemon or Equal in Lemon Juice
1 Large Glass
Pour the gin, squeeze lemon in while pouring the tonic water. Do NOT slosh. Add ice, serve to Tj. (Its more like Mike's Hard Lemonade with Gin instead of Vodka)
I know a couple others, but are too crude to mention. Maybe we'll have a drink mixing night on my next trip down there Kyroo! :3

Now that sounds like a hell of a time! The Bush Whacker sounds interesting (I love coconut)...actually probably had a few co-workers pass that off as starbucks before :P
On the vodka note, never less than the goose. It may cost a bit extra, but you can taste where the money went.

WHAAAAAAT
I so missed this.
Can we have another miniparty where you mix us fancy drinks?
You have a nice little bar now, how could you say no?
..... Pornstars are good. The bluuuue ones. I don't remember what is in them :(
Zombie shots are cool too. Eihehehehe >:)
Personally I'm a fan of Stroh rum (austrian stuff, smells just like rum and butter lifesavers, except is 160 proof) and infused vodkas and rums. make 'em myself. ;)
Loganberry vodka and perrier is a nice light summer drink.

I'll have too see if I can find those "dragon" drink recipes I've stumbled on. Couple of them sound like something I'd like to try.
1/2 oz green apple sourpus
1/2 oz raspberry sourpus
1 oz vodka
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz pineapple juice
1 oz Tonic water
Drank like... 4 of these a night when I lived in sask. Miss them. Don't acually have a name though :p

Kyroo doesn't need a drink for that because he gets one everynight

I love White Russians.
2 or so oz of Vodka
1-2 oz of coffee liqueur (more or less to taste)
Light cream (Add how much to preference) i usually do alcohol 60%/40% cream mix
Ice
1: Take ice and fill the glass half to 2/3rds full
2: Pour in Vodka and Liqueur
3: Gently pour in cream, keeping layers partially separated (resting a spoon on the ice and pouring onto the spoon works great i find)
4:Consume
One of my favourite drinks. As the ice rises is will draw the cream and alcohol together in the perfect mix. Some prefer it without ice, and it is possible to keep the layers separate if you pour the cream delicately enough.
Monk's Coffee:
- 1 shot of mild espresso
- 1 shot of Frangelico
- 1/2 shot of Irish Cream
- 1/2 shot of chocolate liqueur or sweet creme de cacao
Add whipped cream or a bit of sweetened heavy cream to taste, and a flute glass is about the right size to hold it. Sweet, caffeinated, and bitter undernotes.

Or, rather... you CAN'T taste where the money went. ;)
