from lunar prodigy: a friendly audio letter addressing the BC furry community as a whole and some direct apologizes to a few specific people who have more hostile and/or complicated history with me. reached a point where i can forgive, forget, and move on past anger. This is meant as general explanation and apology.

Those who complain about drama have a habit of surrounding themselves with it.
If you want drama to go away, wipe the word from your vocabulary.
Charmy, if you could give Lunar the following message from me: You are being far too neurotic! It isn't healthy stress out this much over little things like forum posts! You need to forget about things and move on with your life. I guarantee you no body else is thinking about these things as much as you are. It's okay. Nobody is judging you over things said in the past, people have forgotten, nobody cares! So there's no need for you to worry so much.
You have problem. You get incredibly stressed out over little things.
I don't know whether that's something you can control or not but you have got to get yourself help!
I write this tough love as a friend. It would be unkind for me to encourage these tangents of yours with silence. I'd be surprised if anybody was able to listen to that entire clip.

I'd have to agree with this point, 4 hours and 36 minutes is a long time to invest in listening to or watching something. If I were in Lunar's position then I think I would have done a 5 minute, (maximum 10 minutes at most) audio letter and stuck to the point/s to be addressed. I hate to say it but I believe that this is not likely to achieve the purpose for which it was posted, the point is lost in the sheer size of the message.
Admittedly I heard "drama" uttered at the beginning and then I did not listen to the rest of it.
I'm sorry if my bluntness bothers you Lunar, but it's 4 hours long. I'll take a more thorough listen to it, but I doubt I'll make it through the whole thing. If there's any thing specific I should have heard please feel free to message it to me.
Now I don't feel guilty for making quick assumptions in this case given the gossip I've experienced in the past.
I do not hate the guy. If I did I would not be rooming with you at RF Lunar.
I'm going to avoid commenting much on his public image and how he was 'trashed' by people in this community. Partly because I've only heard one side of the story, but mainly because I believe that as adults we must be responsible how people perceive us. Take it from someone who pisses a lot of people off.
The world does not adapt to you.
I won't be discussing this any further with anyone - other than Lunar - lest I be accused of not practicing which I preach. I like to maintain a drama free position in this community.
Lunar, I hope I'll still see you at RF. As far as I know you're still rooming with Duffy and I. The theme this year is going to be a particularly good one. ;D

My Turn - You are correct in that I used to be under a different name and changed it. None of the drama that I dealt with was with or against anyone in this community as it was from outsiders. I live a double life and it would be a bad thing if both ever crossed over too much into the other. The drama I dealt with was from family members and work colleagues who are very conservative and started to suspect that the artwork that I did under my old furry name looked a lot like the non furry artwork that I am doing under a different name. In the late spring of 2011 I was attacked by some trolls on FA, then they got some of their friends on a trolling web site to join in. I was going to change my name because of the first incidents mentioned but the trolling incident on FA sped up the process. I deleted every gallery I had on the net under the old name, changed to my new identity and started over. I avoided what could have developed into a pretty ugly situation, ( again there were no issues with anyone in the local community. ) The drama had found me, I did not want it, did not go looking for it and had to disappear from the fandom for a few months so the nonsense would blow over.
Hopefully I didn't hijack the thread for too long but now that I have thought about it since my last post I think that if I were in Lunar's position I still would have tried to keep my initial apology to a few minutes long. With a short apology you could then insert a word and a link about the longer second post containing the bigger audio file that viewers could decide to listen to or not. Those who would not listen would simply move on while those who decided to listen could then do so by going to the second file. I know Lunar pretty well and in the not too distant past he's talked about a second start and trying to do better in the future, I believe that the audio letter is probably a part of that process.
I actually finished listening to all 4 hours and 36 minutes of this, admittedly because I'm pulling an allnighter and I needed something to keep me awake.
I used to know TAFKA Lunar and hung out with him quite a bit. It's quite an insightful listen, a lengthy but in-depth monologue chronicling the struggles of fitting in amongst the plethora of niche crowds and cliques of both the furry fandom and real life. In many ways it's similar to my own experiences with finding a circle of trustworthy friends in a strange new group.
Here I am reviewing it like it's a damn movie when it's in fact, a highly personal and heartfelt mea culpa.
I hanged out with him once. Well, it was supposed to be a group writers' meet a while ago but only him and I showed up. He's a really good guy that I know. It was a short meet as we had to adjoin the artist meetup. Either way, I've met him several times at furmeets, and thanks much for the T-shirt, I am quite grateful for it.
You are a good person, Lunar. I just think that to all those who antagonizes you - just have to live and let live.
