Anyone else have the game pre-ordered or looking forward to getting the game?
I'm mostly wondering cause i kind of want to have a small friends guild like i did in the first,
but i want more than myself and possibly 2 others in it.

I was a huge GW fan back when Factions was released. I even won a contest ArenaNet threw to attend the launch party for the Nightfall expansion and was one of the first hundred players to finish the campaign.
I didn't play the last beta weekend but I played the one before and oooh man this game is going to be amazing. I'm so glad they kept the Mesmer profession.
On release I'm flying to California to visit my MMO friends and we're gonna spend a week non-stop playing. It will be pretty epic.
Sorry man though I already have my GW2 plans all mapped out with my buddie, but if for some reason those plans fall through I'd love to join your guild/server
I never really enjoyed Guild Wars back in the day (played it at release when I had WoW as an option), but to be honest, I'm really exicted for Guild Wars 2. I have not pre-ordered it just yet, but usually kind of wait for 'on the day' purchases. Did that with most games like D3, SWTOR, ect.
Dont really have any plans though as I dont know many who will be playing/getting it.
I've been thinking of preordering it but still haven't done so. Maybe I'm subconsciously protecting myself from getting into another MMO since I finally escaped from WoW.
Well, I broke down and bought this. Think I'm going to be playing with a group of WoW guildmates and a group of friends from Tapestries.
I'm like 90% sure Im going to buy it, but havent yet. Waiting till maybe Friday.
So I just played this bad boy over the weekend. Best game ever? No. Very welcome change from WoW-like RPGs? Yes.
Plus the charr are awesome.. There's a lot of cash shop stuff in the game, but so far it hasn't seemed like a bad thing, and also I'm really enjoying just coasting through the game with friends. The encouragment to play with friends is pretty amazing with how it slots you with similar levels, and shares XP. Was running around with 5 friends, getting almost the exact same XP (or more with speed) than I did solo.
Combat is fun, and dynamic, especially when compared to WoW. World Vs World has a DAoC feel to it.
I've been enjoying it so far, and it's very unlike WoW, which is refreshing. I'm playing a charr thief named Aliann Swiftshadow on Isle of Janthir, and am in a guild called Automaton that's run by a furry friend of mine who used to live around here. Most of the members are friends of ours from Tapestries.
Account name is Silvermink (not sure how you add friends who aren't online, by character name or account name or either).
I'm on a different server so I dont think we can play together.

Theoretically there's guesting to allow people from different servers to play together, but it's not in yet.
Haven't had much of a chance to play it myself yet. Or have anyone to really party with. I'm on the Eredon Terrace server myself.
And to add friends I believe its the character name. Or the name that it says above the friend list. The one that is your account name followed by numbers "Name".####
Silvermink.1563 is my full one with the numbers.
I got it this on the weekend, haven't had a chance to play it yet but I'd love a chance to play online with sum' other furs
I'd be interested in grouping up with some other locals. I haven't been playing for lack of people to play with.

Yeah, I saw that just give me a bit to download the client again.
Okay its downloading at like 2.5mb a sec so it should get there anytime. Anyways my characters name is Papabear. I was pretty famous on the server for awhile when I played because I was the best geared and furthest on my legendary. I'm sure I must of fallen behind a bit but lets see if I can pick up my old habbits again.

This is getting complecated. My account was hacked so I recovered it this morning. The guy who hacked it somehow got the Guild Wars 2 staff to regive him the keys to my account which means some how he got ahold of my CD key information. Needless to say I changed all my passwords etc etc however I think the Guild Wars 2 staff are done for the night.
I will have this guy in a body bag tomorrow though. I found out who he is in real life. I found him trying to sell my account on some website...

I also found what guilds he was affiliated with and told their leadership. Finally, I have screenshots of my Gamefly account which has the original records of me purchasing the game which overrides anything he could of possibly stolen off of me. >:( I am super pissed and stressing out though. I hope he doesn't drop my Kudzu because they don't have a reimbursement option on the game.

Hehe well if your not level 80 yet you could probably start levelling a little in the mean time.

Sounds like I should have my account access back in no time guild wars 2 wise. Also it sounds like we should have 2 more babyfurs joining us... they have both said they want to and have checked in. I'm just getting them to add me on skype and such. Is anyone here besides silvermink coming as well?

Idk I found the leveling system rather enjoyable and the world pvp is not bad. Hype is generally called hype for a reason though. I was looking at it realistically.

I don't agree at all, at least not from the perspective of a WoW player - possibly some of this stuff was already in other games in between WoW and GW2, I dunno. I think the impact of not having to compete for mobs, resource nodes, etc. is huge. It makes you feel like you're playing
with the other players instead of
against them.
I think the quest system - having a bunch of stuff to do in an area rather than having to run around gathering !s from a quest hub - is a pretty big step forward, too.
Oh, and the content scaling, which is done really well.
I think GW2's an awesome game, and I'd love to have more people to play it with - MMOs just aren't that much fun solo for me. I have to at least have people to chat with, even if we're not actively running around together.
I do agree that the "endgame content" is a little bit "enh" coming from WoW, though. I think it's mostly in the name of not having the gear treadmill, though - getting new endgame gear is mostly about looking cooler rather than being more powerful.

Cover up the completion bar with your finger and it's the same thing. It's just a graphical difference, and the lack of having to talk to someone. But, you talk to the person anyways to buy stuff with your Karma.
It's a beautiful game, and the cooperative elements of it are awesome. :) I think it's still a bit sugar coated though.
Also, female Charr mesmer represent! They're like 0.1% of the population or something.

My main is a female charr thief, which are almost as rare! I actually made a female charr mesmer too when I discovered they were the rarest combination.
