: Mikomi June 01, 2012, 12:46:30 -06:00
So any of you love cars? Driving them working on them? Admiring them?

:D I love cars to the max, i used to race my friends car on the track in races. Now I'm helping my roomie get his car trackable.
Hes got a 95' Civic SI.

And i just got my self a 2012 Civic. Getting a rear sway bar soon. Then going to drop it just about an inch, and eventually get a basic Turbo set-up. :D

So how about you all? What are you driving? whats your favorite car?

Yay car furs!  :birdy:

i`m not as much a car enthusiast as i am a big appreciator of the 1961-67 ford econoline van series, especially the camper 'travelwagon' versions.

here`s a picture of my vehicle:

Haha I know that roomates car... Lol he was actually the one who convinced me to buy my 93 Civic SI Hatch, would not trade it for anything now! ^.=.^ The coupes are not bad, but I would still stick with my hatch any day. I like the versatility and I got this dislike of trunks for some reason XD I have been adding on to my SI over the years. Latest addition was some 35% window tint (need to get new photos of that) She even just surpassed 323,000km still going strong! Not sure if I would race mine though, I love it a bit too much to totally bag it, especially since it burns no oil at such high kms, im kinda in it for the long haul.

Honestly I think the only other car I can see myself with at this present time is a 2011 Honda CRZ. I would have been all over the civic had they continued the hatchback in North America, Honda screwed the pooch when they pulled that model from North America and left us only with Coupes and Sedans. :/

My riced and abused 99 impreza RS 2.5L coupe i bought last year. Sadly it has a VI order on it which it can't pass on my current coilovers so i won't be driving it for awhile :(
Currently she has about 196k and still running really well.

2001 Acura CL Type S

She's got balls, and I love the tiptronic shift, fully loaded with the leather package and memory seats with heat;)

I'd always wanted to put some work into it, but not sure I will now, I'll probably hold out and save up until I can get myself a WRX ...if the promotion goes really well maybe STI?  ;D

Fools dream I guess, but its fun to think about.

I would man you can get some damn nice STI's cheap if you watch for older ones from japan. A good place to keep an eye on is tyee imports. They are on the island and always have some nice stuff.
That's if you don't mind RHD of course.

What a bad accronym...I can get STI's really cheap downtown Victoria and Vancouver area too...I hear Main and Hastings is a good place to pick one up  ;D Not sure I'd want an older one from Japan though  :P

hehe i remember seeing some sti awareness ad where someone photoshopped the car into it and it said something along the lines of "STI's are spreading fast. Check your garage today"
Haven't been able to find it again though

2001 Jeep Tj Sport

4.0L Straight 6 with 31x10.5R15 all terrain tires

I'm all about driving to hard to reach places, up mountains, deactivated roads etc.
I usually do most of my own mechanical work with friends. Jeep's aren't known for their speed or good looks, but the practicability, and ruggedness make it the ideal vehicle for this blue haired vulpine. ^^

Finally got a updated picture with my summer wheels (14"s off a 2004 Civic LS) and the window tint I got ^.=.^

Oh and while im at it... lol may as well show my monster *unzips his pants and pulls out his..... Phone* <.=.<  >.=.>
This gargantua is running a 351 Windsor with a Holley intake manifold, a Edelbrock 1406 4 Barrel carburetor and I was even lucky enough in the past few months to get my claws on a K&N air filter and chromed housing assembly for free :D lol I have no clue what kinda power it pushes out now, but seeing as its mated with a 3 speed ford C6 tranny, there is only so much it can do. This picture was taken shortly after I re-painted the grill, the last owner had it all flat black cause he wanted to give it some sorta biker badass look lol. Im gonna be getting it insured for the summer in the coming weeks when things get nicer out. ^.=.^

Nice. I was going to test drive an Element SC once, but the salesman who "promised" he'd get it in for me to check out never called me back, so... his loss, I suppose!

Its sad that where I work we get so few cool cars in, but I have driven a rather vast spectrum of vehicles, from things as shitty as Cavilers and Smart cars (no seriously they drive and run like shit) to heavy duty trucks and even a 25ft cargo truck even XD

Out of everything I have driven I will say that the only things I really admit to liking driving wise were a 2009 Mustang GT, cause it was standard and a actual V8, a few civic coupes (cause I am a Honda nerd) and the odd niche vehicles like a Kia Soul which was surprisingly a nice drive!

Good eye. I love my sc. I just put some (slightly larger than spec) winter tires on it, otherwise the ride is brutally stiff.  It has virtually no neat features, besides the full out lighting job I've done. (xenon kit in the stock hid lens, so I don't blind people, all other bulbs are high intensity led, added Lego block white fender markers, a bunch of accent lighting inside, and a ridiculously bright pool of under car white light when I unlock or open the doors.)

Good eye.

For a while there I was so into cars that I could often identify them by the shapes of their headlights. I freely admit that that's a little frightening.

Nice. My Accord (2001 V6 coupe) is as stock as it gets, but regardless pretty nice to drive.

Oh?  And what would that be?

Let me just mention when I lay my seats out flat, it makes a bed long enough for this 6'6" wolf to stretch out and sleep...

Currently rolling around in a 2012 Camry which is comfy and hopefully will be reliable for a long long time, though my first car and love of my life was the 92 Honda Accord, naturally I called her Rhonda the Honda. That car was bullet-proof reliable and great on gas and got me home in all sorts of bad weather that should have left me stranded. Just thinking about her makes me tear up a bit. *sniff*

My first was a 91 Pontiac sunbird.  I hated that car, but it worked.  My second was a 95 grand am. Was a bit better, fun to drive v6, but it was also a POS.  both cars sold for more that I paid for them...  My current one cost me waaay too much.

That is one badass camper, Drake. I got the chance to drive a similar beast, a Frontier 25ft conversion from the 70s, with a GMC front end and a 454ci V8, 4 barrel carb. Each time you flexed your foot cost you at least a buck. :)

Hmm.. let's see if I can revive a dead thread...

BAM!

I think Elements are underrated. They're basically a CR-V underneath, but far more interesting to look at.

I drive an '80 Volvo 245 wagon. Four speed manual with electric overdrive (that still works), 2.1L four cylinder with SU single barrel sidedraft carb, and enough space to move a small house. Gets 8L/100km on the highway, and is quite frankly the best road trip car ever built. Mine only had two owners, and has been well looked after, so I hope to keep it for many more years.

They're also a breeze to work on. Being rear-drive and so big, I can climb into the engine bay on the left hand side of the engine, there's that much space. No computers whatsoever means simple electrics, and no fuel injection means I can set the car up to run the way I want without tomfoolery.

I'll get a better picture up shortly.
