Has someone made a topic similar to this a while back? If not, then I guess it's prime time to do so.
So....fellow furries, share the restaurants in which you have dined at that were memorable, and worth going a second time, and all that.
For me, I'll start off with the Memphis Blues Bar & Grill. I've been to one with several of my friends last Friday. It's a carnivore's heaven. Two words: Come hungry, and with a group of 6, 'cause I'd highly recommend the Elvis Platter for a price of around $77.

I really like the White Spot in the north end of Nanaimo. It has much better cooks than the one downtown.
Also, there is a restaurant downtown called Mrs Riches. It has phenomenal food and large portions. I have to go without dinner the night before and breakfast the next day just to eat all of the lunch I get there.
Awesome topic! :-3
There's a lot of good places around Vancouver to try out. Here's some places on my list that I think people should consider:
Baan Wasma Thai at Kerrisdale - Definitely a place to check for anyone who has a craving for Thai food. Awesome food and service! I've only been there once and ordered the red curry; I'm so down to go back there again.
Stephos on Davie's - Best bang for the buck for Greek food. I highly recommend their roast lamb. Despite the long line-ups, it's worth it!
Nuba Restaurant on West Hastings - It's is a tab bit pricier for Lebanese food but it's really worth it for a try! As well, it's an interesting ambiance to dine in. I would recommend the 'le petit feast' (to share), roast half chicken and the braised short ribs.
Calabash Bistro on Carrall Street - Really interesting Caribbean place! They have live music and pretty good food as well. Do try their fried coconut dumplings and Ackee and Saltfish. Lots of rum drinks as well ;)
Naam on Kitsilano - a 24 Hr Vegan place that my friends and I do frequent; awesome place to sober up. :P I usually order the nachos and their sesame fries. I would also recommend the Dutch Apple-Cranberry pie for dessert.
My list goes on a little longer. But I'll end it here for now before I bored anyone. Lol! (And sorry, don't have any pictures to share :( Maybe in the future)
Banana Leaf on W. Broadway and MacDonald/Balaclava. Some awesome Malaysian stuff. 8U I haven't been to any of the other ones but I'm sure they're good too.
Jolly's Indian Bistro on 4th and Bayswater/MacDonald. Place gets quite busy since it's rather small, but the food was SO GOOD.
Yesterday I discovered a new little place along marine drive. 'Jimmy Flynn's Celtic Snug,' they served one of the best dishes of bangers and mash I've had in a very long time. It's cute inside they've decorated it to feel like an old scottish tavern. It is rather ritzy for a little pub. However the prices are reasonable considering the quality.
A food thread? I approve! Been meaning to start something like this for a while, glad someone beat me to it!
Here are a few of my favs or regular stops:
- Pho Maxima - 20th and Edinburgh in New West. Good, serviceable pho in an out of the way spot. Good spring rolls too.
- Vina Vietnamese - several mall locations (Richmond Center, Oakridge, Metrotown are the ones I've been to). Quite solid Banh mi, surprising for food courts, and very tasty spring rolls. Soups are average.
- Long's Noodle House - Main and 33rd. Shanghainese food, very nicely done, great xiaolongbao. Small and cramped, very busy, but worth it if you can get in.
- Peaceful Restaurant - broadway and Cambie (south side west of Cambie). Kind of cramped, again, but damn great regional Chinese. Hand-pulled or cut noodles are very much worth a try. Cumin lamb noodles are stellar.
- Romers Burger Bar - two locations, W. 4th and Cypress or the south end of Kerr St. - right across from my place, so that's where I go. Burgers are upscale and pricey, but tasty. Great garlic fries.
- Hamilton Street Grill - Hamilton and Nelson. One of very few places where if you ask quietly they may be able to serve a medium-rare burger. It's worth it, great burger.
How about some downtown food carts?
- Re-Up BBQ - Hornby and W. Georgia, by the Art Gallery. pulled pork sandwiches and sweet tea, both of which are awesome. They may also have smoked brisket sandwiches, never tried hem though.
- La Brasserie Street - Granville and Georgia. One sandwich, the Brass Chicken, which is ridiculously good.
That's probably enough for now.
There's Burger Heaven (http://www.burgerheaven.ca/) in New West on the corner of 10th St and Agnes St.
A very wide selection of burgers (even politically-themed ones for election years), and great shakes too. =^.^=
Here's three places I like to go to:
Hamburger Mary's - on the corner of Bute street and Davie street. They have yummy food and their shakes are both super thick and delicious. Plus their diner is so old fashioned it looks amazing inside!! :3
Woody's Pub - on Brunette Avenue and Lougheed Highway. My friends and I mostly just go there for their wings, since they're a heck of a lot cheaper than the restaurant 'Wings', but they do have a menu as well and it's a pretty decent pub to go to, especially if you want to watch a sports game, because it's a sports pub. :3
Firefighters Social & Athletic Club - on Bonsor Avenue and Bennett Street. This place is awesome if you want to go dancing and have dinner with a small group of friends. They have great food and great drinks, service is great. Also, if you come early enough and stay late, you can see a band, and they open up the middle area for dancing. :3 (And when I say early, anytime before 7:30-8:00, because after that they charge an entry fee to get in when the band starts playing)

I've been there too! I had the Guinness BBQ Bison Burger - the bbq sauce was awesome on the bison patty! My friend tried the Guinness Lamb Stew - that looked like the perfect thing to warm up to on a dreary rainy night (with beer, lol).

Banana Leaf on W. Broadway and MacDonald/Balaclava. Some awesome Malaysian stuff. 8U I haven't been to any of the other ones but I'm sure they're good too.
I've been there via the 99 B-Line. The atmosphere was pretty awesome. The highlight of my dinner experience there? Fried banana + vanilla ice cream! :D
Jolly Mac's Pub in Surrey has a wicked blue steak. A little bit charred on the outside, nice and moist inside. Heaven for your mouth.
Good lord, I could make this a mile long. Some great suggestions here so far - definitely second Peaceful (the one on Davie is good too), Banana Leaf (again, the one on Davie is good too), La Brasserie Street, and Hamilton Street Grill (their gingerbread pudding is probably the best dessert I've ever eaten).
Just off the top of my head:
La Taqueria - one location at Hastings near Hamilton downtown, the other on Cambie just south of Broadway. Far and away the best Mexican place I've been to in Vancouver, even if they only serve tacos and quesadillas. And they're licensed now, too.
Zakkushi - I've been to the one on Denman and the one on 4th, but they have one on Main Street as well. Really good izakaya.
Moderne Burger - in Kits not too far from Broadway and Macdonald. Really cool diner atmosphere with some seriously awesome burgers.
Santouka - near Robson and Cardero. Probably my favorite ramen place, though last time we tried to go there it was lined up down the freakin' block.
Kintaro - near Denman and Robson. Another really good ramen place. I usually get the cheese (yes, seriously) ramen.
Motomachi Shokudo - Kintaro's healthier sibling, also a ramen place and owned by the same people. And just up the street.
Tung Hing Bakery - on Kingsway between Knight and Fraser. Really awesome banh mi, one of those places that constantly tops the list of such things.
Mangal Kiss - downtown food cart I discovered recently, on the north side of the Art Gallery block. They do shishliks, kind of an Israeli take on the whole donair/shawarma thing, and soup, both of which are excellent. Also lots of veggies so I can feel virtuous eating it.
Hubbub - on Hornby near Robson. Bitchin' (if expensive) sandwiches. Only one variety (though various different proteins), but it's amazing.
American Cheesesteak Co - on Davie near Granville. Again, expensive for a sandwich place and definitely not health food, but they make some really good cheesesteaks.
Belgian Fries - Commercial and 3rd. Awesome poutine, and pretty good other stuff too.
Red Pagoda - Commercial near Kitchener. My go-to pho place mostly because it's just a few blocks from our place, but really solid too.
Meat and Bread - Cambie near Hastings. Speaking of sandwiches, this place does some ridiculously good stuff. Their regular sandwich is porchetta with crackling, which is every bit as good as it sounds.
Ragazzi Pizza - near 22nd and Renfrew. My favorite pizza place to order from. Really good authentic Italian stuff.
Joey - usually not big on the chain restaurants but this one's distinguished itself. I haven't had anything bad here. The pumpkin-mini-donuts-and-dulce-de-leche dessert is insanely good.
Might be back with more later. :)
Mahek - Hwy 10 and 152nd
Siagon Pho - Fraser Hwy and 152nd
If you guys ever swing by Chilliwack, we have the most amazing Indian restaurant I've ever been to, called Shandhar Hut. Every single one of their dishes is amazing.
We also have a great place out near the highway 1/Bridal Falls area called Wildcat Grill. They have some kickass chefs and they grill a mean ginger-lime salmon. Also try the Rowdy Rosedale Burger, which is three huge patties on a piece of French bread, with BBQ sauce and a ton of cheese and bacon. My friends and I used to have a contest to see who could finish theirs the fastest (if at all).
if anybody is ever in Port Alberni over on Van Isle, and you happen to have an addiction to fishies! the clam bucket is where it's at! they have the best seafood in town and nobody is ever gonna bring them down!

Wildcat Grill does good stuff. The other thing y'gotta do in Chilliwack is go to the Airport Coffee Shop for pie.
Given that I live close to Steveston as well...I'd highly recommend Sockeye City Grill. They have some of the best fish and chips ever. Be sure to make the fried fish double while you are at it.
Bon's off brodway. Best hangover food ever.
Also Thai Garden by como lake ave. has some really good deep fried noodles
The American CheeseSteak Co.
781 Davie St Downtown
Really good philisteaks sandwiches! ;D
Montana's at Coquitlam Center... love the food, never had bad service or food. If you go you have to try the kapow shrimp, best shrimp i've EVER had. I go there so often when i walk in, they always know exactly what im gunna order :P i guarentee if you go, you wont be disappointed they even have all you can eat ribs on Wednesdays... mmmmmmm <3
Its not actually part of the mall, like.. the food court or anything, its a separate restaurant beside the outside futureshop entrance. If your in the area.. stop there, its worth it o.o <3
Hey furs, I've been to this somewhat midrange restaurant in UBC - it's called The Point Grill. It was half a year ago, but the quality should still be great. Two words. Yam fries. They are awesome.
