Good morning everyone! Just letting you know, BCFurries has been updated with the latest in chat technology. Just click the chat link on the bar above and start chatting!
We are not responsible for any horrible text-based abominations that may result, appreciate it if you kept it clean folks :-3
Sweet! I'm checking it out asap!
Ah dang, you got me. -w-
In all seriousness, I spoke to Rat and he has agreed to a chat site, provided it is hosted outside of bcfurries.
Which opens up a number of different options (irc, java chat, etc.)
When I have time I'll go through the options I have and come up with something cool.
I anticipate trying a few new things every couple months for chat options.
Recently Kithop has offered to host a minecraft server for the forums. If you want to check it out, click the "Chat" button on the top bar. :vik:
Hey guys - so yeah, this is just a basic free Minecraft Classic server (i.e. perma-creative mode, no monsters or creepers or anything) running off my server at home (the same one that powered the at-con systems for VancouFur 2012). Anyone with Java should be able to play it, though new Macs seem to have an issue with the applet just showing a black screen - there *is* a weird workaround that I've yet to try here: Minecraft Classic Black Screen Fix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1XUkTAN0cE#ws)
I do play the newer, non-free 'Survival Multiplayer' (SMP) setup as well, and currently have it set up running the Tekkit mod pack (http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/ (http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/)). Of course, this is a lot more resource intensive, and since it's not free (something like $20 now), understandably it's not for everyone, but for those that may be interested, I can look into opening it up a bit for furs. :) I mean, look at VancouFur 2013 site (http://vancoufur.ca/) right now...
If there's interest, let me know, and I may have time to wipe it and set it up with proper admin tools and such to be something unofficial.
Well, I can now attest to the fact the "black screen fix" works. That was pretty nifty.
I'm tempted to say this takes up more resources than the actual game though. xP It ended up freezing up my (admittedly slow) computer. So, yes, I would be interested in an actual SMP server. I know it's been tried here before, to some success.
I've posted a poll up in the PC Gaming subforum regarding a 'proper' Minecraft server - please feel free to take a look and vote there:

Thanks!
Unition, I set up a Skype BC Furry Chat Room a while back and we currently have 40 users from the BC Furries website...maybe you might want to take a look and see if it suits your needs?
