Greetings gents and ladies,
Just curious about who else in this fine group enjoys this spectacular sport? If there's enough interest maybe we can get a UFC party together. :3
Hells ya. MMA rocks
I love watchin ppv's and whatnot. I practice JiuJitsu and BJJ :)
LOVE IT!!
I heard about MMA from a senior student in my Wing Chun class at UBC.
There was this one awesome kick by this guy who jumped up on the fence, bounced off it, and delivered it to the opponent's cranium. That was insane, and it knocked the living daylights out of this.
If I am planning to watch MMA, I'll keep an eye for South Asian martial arts such as Muay Thai and Kali (Philippine Martial Arts).
Hmm... this MMA topic got me thinking on a general martial arts discussion thread of sorts, but I'll let someone beat me to it, because I'm such a gentlefur. 8)
EDIT: I dug up the vid I was talking about!
Unbelievable kick ! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HGU6sIGKc8#noexternalembed-ws)
I love the UFC. I have been watching the UFC for a few years now, have only briefly practiced in jei ei (pronounced G I) combat juijitsu with my family's Shihan. Plan to get back into it again, but not for a bit (heart meds and whatnot kinda limit stuff :P).
I watch the UFC every time it is on, watch The Ultimate Fighter series, and also monitor and watch out for events months in advance to see who is fighting who, who trains with who, who is injured, etc.
I can definitely see starting some MMA get-togethers, seeing as I have done something of the same in the past, but with work people rather than furs.
I love it, Im not a huge fan but I do watch it when I can :3
I have dug out one of the most relevant gems pertaining to this topic.
MMA? Check.
Furries? Check.
Georges St-Pierre? Check.

I'll try anything once, especially if it's furry wrestling. :monocle:
St-Pierre raises a good point. If you are a furry and you fight, you gotta watch out for your tail. It's a one way ticket to get paralyzed from the waist down if your opponent fur yanks your tail with an intent to injure. :-\
That is fricking funny!!

Anyone who tries pulling on an otter's tail will learn quickly what a mistake it would be :vik:
