: Any one need a room mate in Nanaimo?
: Broken Fox March 06, 2012, 11:51:27 -07:00
Looking for a place in Nanaimo, if any one can help, that'd be great.

I am thinking of moving soon... and I live in Nanaimo. My current roommates are partiers and pot smokers and are messy and have no consideration. I need to scrape up the funds (and hopefully find a place before giving notice here).

My concerns are finding a pet friendly place (I have a cat), keeping costs low, finding someone who knows how to pull their weight with chores and being on the #3 or #4 bus route. :P

This could work out then. I'm not a party person (Except for work parties hehe) I don't do drugs, and I'm clean and tidy, kinda a complex I got from being in the military P: I certainly know how to pull my own weight that's for sure, and I know how to work well with others.

How much are you looking to spend on a place? I don't think I can go more than $400/mo ($450 including hydro and Internet). If it makes any difference, I usually spend all of my time in my bedroom.

That's seems like a price range I can manage right now, and should be able to manage even better once I find another job out in Nanaimo. :3 I spend most my time in my room too haha P: So It'll be a quiet place if this happens xD

That would be heavenly. :P The earliest I would be able to move is May, since I would have to give a months notice on the first of next month.

We should hang out and see how well we get along. Will you be up to Nanaimo for lykys hangout? Or I think Tj is having one on the 19th or so.

When ever it would be, it would have to be on a week day, because I work every single weekend untill the second week of May. Oh! And to mention, I wouldn't be around much some times because of always going away places for work. And I'm also seeing about taskings in other parts of Canada, so I could end up gone for a couple months or more, depending on what kind of tasking it would be, but you wouldn't have to worry, I'd still be good for my part of the rent P: But yes, I should probably meet up in person sometime just to make sure we all get along in person and what not, but that shouldn't really be an issue, cause I'm can get along with just about any one need be.

Yeah, as long as everyone does their fair share, I get along with most people. And meeting up on a weekday is ok with me. Since work is slow, I usually work Mondays and Tuesdays (sometimes Wednesdays). Starting up in April though, my boss thinks she will keep the shop closed on Mondays, so my days will switch to Tues/Wed/(maybe Thurs).

I have already put my feelers out on CL for people with rentals coming up in May. I've said that the place should be on the 3 or 4 bus route for me but you have a car (right) so you'd need parking. Pet friendly for my kitty. Laundry available, two bedrooms, non-party/smoking house. If there is anything specific you'd want, I can edit the ad. One person was very fast and already emailed me saying that she and her husband are rennovating their basement to be a two bedroom place and for $800 hydro/internet are included. Though, a 10 to 15 minute walk to the bus stop seems a bit too much for me (I am very out of shape and it sounds too hard for me lol) I'd still like to see it so I let her know that we may want to look at it in a couple of weeks.

Yes, I have my own vehicle so parking would kinda be nice haha. There isn't any thing specific I'd be looking for, I'm just really trying to look at getting out of where I am right now more then any thing. Only real thing I require is internet P: That whole basement to be a two bedroom place sounds like a pretty good go.

Yeah, I don't need a landline (I use a cell) and I don't care about cable (I like to download my shows anyway). So even if we had to pay for Internet, it is only about $55/mo from Shaw.

Yah, I watch most of what I need to watch on the internet any ways. I perfer to watch movies on netflix and stuff like that, or find websites that have streaming tv episodes. At this point, I don't care what the place will have, so long as I can curl up at the end of the day and sleep.

I don't currently live in Nanaimo, but the island is where I want to go.  I'm a 33 year old guy in Kamloops BC.  I've worked in security here for the past 6 years.  I'm sick of the climate here and I want to move down to the coast in a week if possible.

If you're still interested in finding a room-mate and don't mind living with an old guy like me, send me a message or hit me up on MSN.
