: Hesitant Anthro Artist from Powell River
: starflier February 20, 2012, 04:41:24 -07:00
Hi all, I'm Robin Gibson (Starflier most places online) I've never really considered myself "Part" of the furry community, but my interest in drawing anthros pretty much ensures that I will always be at least peripheral to said community. Which is probably the worst way to begin an introduction, but there you go.

I draw a weekly online comic called "Cats in the Kitchen (http://www.cookingwithcats.com/)", and do freelance and commission work on a per-job basis. I also make video games, and am an independent caterer when there's work for one. Oh! and I'm trying to figure out literature. There's just so much and I don't know where to start, so if you have a favorite classic novel, let me know and I'll try it out :)

I'm planning to attend VancouFur, and am a bit nervous and excited about it...

I think that's all... Yeah, It'll do.

From one artist to another, welcome! Your comic looks neat, I will give it a read later!
I won't be at Vancoufur this year (just moved to the province and my funds won't be in good shape in time for the con) but I plan to go next year. I'm sure you'll have fun!

Hey there! Welcome! :3

You mentioned books, so I'm obligated to recommend Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake. My favorite novel of all time, but it's a challenging read, and really eccentric. You'll need a dictionary and about a month of free time. Consider yourself warned! ;D

Okay, I'll do that :)
Do you know if there's still room for dealers? I did the registration thing, but I haven't gotten word back either way

I actually got that but gave it to my brother for Christmas because he's a LOTR fan who also likes obscure things, and Mervyn Peake is kinda the modern classic author who got lost in Tolkien's shadow. I need to borrow it from him so I can read it though ^^

We are currently on a waiting list for dealer's tables. I can put you down for one if you like, but don't hold your breath on getting a table :(
