in a recent conversation, the subject of an old late 60`s t.v. series called "the banana splits" came up.
a fairly early anthropomorphic character children`s series, while googling them i found that the original creators "sid & marty krofft", went on to create h. r. puff-n-stuff, sigmund the sea monster, the idea and most of the characters of mc. donald-land for the restaurant chain among many other shows.
i thought i would just bring this to the attention of those not familiar with early influences of furry lineage.

I discovered this program in 2009, as reruns aired on Teletoon Retro. Apparently the idea was to create a children-friendly rock group similar to The Monkees. In doing so, they amassed an amazing roster of talent. In addition to involvement by Kroffts, the series was produced by the gods of 1960s TV animation, Hanna-Barbera. Fleegle's familiar voice was provided by Tigger himself, Paul Winchell. And the director of the Danger Island serial was none other than Richard Donner, who later gave us The Omen, Superman, and the Lethal Weapon franchise.
I like how the four of them fall down to the ground every 20 seconds.
Just watched the buggy race. Best show i have ever seen.
