I found a Swedish documentary on the fandom. Though, it does have a few people in it talking in english. The rest, you basically get the idea of what is going on just by watching.
[Edit: There is now a version of the video with sub titles/close caption in english, don't forget to turn it on]
Furry Report - Kanal 5 - Outsiders Episode - (Keenora, Kwisa, Nathalie, Pao) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnA4FeFriI8#ws)
Spoiler: (Who ever thought that fursuiting would help a little in fighting against diabetes? I thought that part was pretty neat.)
Also, if people find other videos like this on the fandom, feel free to post here too.
Oh wow! What a good find! Good job. I really enjoy this documentary so far.
Lemme bookmark this page for now. I'll give this a gander once I'm done with classes and snowball fights. ;)
Wow that must have been recently shot!!
( One of the suits in the vid was delivered at Eurofurence in august)
Aye, to rid oneself of stress is one of nature's best medicine.
Despite the fact that I do not understand Swedish, the documentary is, for a lack of a better word, pretty warm towards furries.
You know, I think the video paints furries in a 'fair' light.
I know a lot of furs will say that they get bad press, and that may be fair to an extent, but a lot of me watching that kind of felt off, or weird. It's a little hypocritical of myself(because Im getting a fursuit, OMG so excited), but being a furry isn't normal. That said, I know a lot of people who are really cool about the whole thing, and I like to try and be open about it to friends/coworkers who aren't furries, and be cool about it as well.
The end of the documentary made me cry a little. In the end though it felt balanced or fair.
PS : I totally want to go to EF one year...
This totally should have more people talking about it IMO.
Good find! Too bad more of it isn't in English, it would be nice to know what they are saying.

Totally with you, but it leaves a feeling of 'actions speak louder than words' in the end.
Hm....captioned English subtitles would work, and not the infamous audio-to-speech recognition and translation system.

Agreed!
Updated, see first posting.
Awesome, thanks for posting the update with the subtitles! I will be watching this after class later today.
Totally going to watch this when I get home(again) today.
-edit-
Video is private. Can't watch.
Ok try again. If all else fails, just search 'Outsiders' and 'Furry' on youtube. I thinking when the subtitled versions came out, she just replaced them. That or youtube is being stupid yet again...

Oooo. Want to watch. Hope I have time tonight.
Though I'm just a little disappointed that it wasn't narrated by Sir David Attenborough. :monocle:
Gonna watch this later, but here's a couple links to other 'Furries in fair light' documentaries:
Furries: An Inside Look - Furries - An Inside Look (http://vimeo.com/17995012)
The Fanboy Confessional Furry Edition - http://www.spacecast.com/fanboyconfessional.aspx (http://www.spacecast.com/fanboyconfessional.aspx) Just click the 'Episode 105: Furry Edition' link in the video player's browser.
Wow, at first I thought it was only one video per episode. Nevertheless, it's a pretty good series of vids for those trying to get themselves into the fandom.
Wow the "Furries: An Inside Look" was really good. This person manage to get a few really good and informative interviews.

I agree. Curious that no women were interviewed (or more plausibly, they didn't make it into the final cut), but the documentary itself was very interesting. Can't say what non-furs might think, but it seemed like a very level-headed introduction to a fandom that is, admittedly, "a little weird."
"Fanboy Confessional: Furry Edition" was a good one as well. Covers a lot of what wasn't in "Furries: An Inside Look." Thanks for posting, Weremagnus. :)
