: Broken Wacom Pen
: Tef November 03, 2011, 11:57:15 -06:00
(http://reviews.cnet.com/sc/33772151-2-440-PEN-3.jpg)

The problem: The white rounded rectangle thing near the tip has gotten loose and is now detached from the pen itself.

Okay, I own a Wacon tablet which is already past its warranty. I need to know a good place where I can buy just the pen and I'm not buying it online.

I could try the UBC Bookstore, but I was wondering if you guys could come up with some options?

Sorry i cannot be of more help.

And last I knew, Wacom won't ship to Canada. Or... have they changed that?

I barely ever see any shops here that sell tablets, so I won't be of much help knowing of a place that sells just pens. How come you don't want to buy online?

Hm...do you guys happen to know any good alternatives that would still work with a Wacom tablet?

You're probably SOL on this one, Tef. Wacom uses a patented pen style; The other tablets use battery-in styluses to dodge Wacom's patent. I gave my Kanvus stylus a try once on my Intuos, and it ignored it outright. The only place I am aware of to buy a replacement Wacom stylus is online. Do not bother buying it through Amazon, buy it through tigerdirect.ca or tigerdirect.com. Better rates, and they accept PayPal unlike Amazon.

I see...I suppose this might be a stupid question but please bear with me.
Would a Wacom pen that comes with a different Wacom model, i.e. Wacom Create pen work on a Wacom Fun (the model of which I'm using) Tablet?

Some will. some wont. I know some older pens might work, but its not garuanteed since Wacom has upped their technology.

As a general rule, Wacom's pens will not work cross-tier more than cross-generationally. An Intuos pen is extremely unlikely to work with a Bamboo, for example. If you're a student, put out a swap request?

I just got my tablet a week and a half ago from the best buy in my area, and last I checked they sold replacement pens. My best suggestion is just check local electronic stores in your area, you just might find something.

sorry I can't be any more helpful  :P

Nope, you were quite helpful there. I'll keep this point down in terms of reference. ^_^
