: Whats inappropriate?
: JFoxx August 29, 2011, 07:26:24 -06:00
Is it considered inappropriate if I suddenly typed in some explicit vulgarity like shit, fuck, ass, ect.. Without using the terms to direct at someone to insult, unless I was being insulted at first and had the right to stand my ground.
When you think of it, the words are really silly and just become a habit as you get older saying them; like shit, I see kids now and days saying violent words and even racial slurs in that matter, I have even realized how younger girls are exposing themselves to sex and like to see a 12 year  old girl dress like a slut in public?
When you think of people with turrets, imagine how much they have to go through with the humiliation and being insulted to people saying there a bad person for exposing such vulgar words in public obnoxiously loud for little kids to hear, but as little kids get older we all know they will be just as violent.

Drugs... Is that world widely known problem for many years still inappropriate knowing, some people go through a difficult life than others and have no way of coping or having no one to understand them, so they have to self medicate; Even just mentioning the word Drugs straws up a huge deal when it could be pharmaceutical, caffeine or alcohol, but dear lord, aren't those all considered into the same category of being lethal as narcotics and street drugs. Hell, not even to mention that Media and gaming is now known as a drug with its brainwashing techniques to strip people away from the truth of reality and to who we really are as people.
It seems everyone is doing drugs.. EVERYONE! drugs are so unavoidable in life, because unfortunately it is just part of life now that we are having trouble accepting and in denial about cause we all know that these mixed chemicals put into your body damages it and causes world wide death.
But so do natural disasters, driving, guns, knives; I wont even bring up weapons, because we all know we try and carry some form of weapon for protection in case we were to face some horrific, more stronger, and taller opponent, or just outnumbered.

Is behaving erratically considered inappropriate, even in public everyone seems like mindless drone zombies, always standing next to someone and keeping silent pretending they do not exist to this world. Or having those who do have that freedom to behave so erratically with that "I don't give a fuck in the world" attitude get carried away and start harassing you. Would insulting him back and getting violent verbally and physical be considered inappropriate, even when you told the person to please stop and try to be polite and calm over the situation and even trying you hardest to ignore and neglect the person.

Anyhow the forum for the general category seemed kinda dull with not that much interesting topics being put out there, so I figured I should be the first to start one.

Thats cool, but I don't believe in the fact that everyone is pure and innocent as they would like you to think.
As I already explained,  drugs are pretty much unavoidable and part of life, so there is no doubt in my mind that you or anyone else abuses some form of poison for satisfaction.
Violence is our nature and even animal instinctive nature which is why we get pleasure watching horror flicks or seeing someone make an idiot of them self and get hurt we find it amusing.
I can believe the swearing part as again like i said the language has no meaning so sometimes people are smart enough to realize that and just not say it.

But yea the world does seem to be going to shits lately its kinda depressing me in away, but at the same time I am hoping it really does fall apart.

This week, indeed, has been very hard on the world. I can recall a few events such as the eastern earthquakes, tornadoes hurricanes and the problem in Libya. I do agree that there are many problems in this world. Science and knowledge (hopefully) will allow us to fix these problems. Oh science, how much I love you.
As for the 'pure and innocent', I guess we can only turn to someones upbringing and nurturing? Poverty cycle for one, or growing up in a country that does has drugs and war. As for us Canadians, I do see many 'idiots' displaying their egos consistently. Some moron I don't know JUST made fun of me 10 minutes ago because I drive an electric scooter (I was driving back home). Okay, so I enjoy using no green house gases and I can get around just fine at 42km/hr. Only costs 7cents to charge and I can travel as far as 50km on a full battery. I don't have money for insurance right now either.
And because of that, I get made fun of.
So yes many people are idiots in this world (yes, idiots. I rather not give them the liberty of anything right now).
The nice people just want to be happy in our lives. Thats kind of hard when apathetic individuals are around.

*rant*

I try my best not to cuss, but it slips out when i get mad. I only drink socaily and not very often at that. I prefer not having to listen to all the cussing in normal day convos, but it is pretty abundant out there.

Roffo - Yea Its been really getting to me hearing all the news about the natural disaster and rioting and such, I even been noticing that when we get sun where I am its hotter than normal. Resting my arm again metallic arms of this chair out on the deck felt like someone was holding a lighter to my arm and I just got way too much sun than normal and the sun was brighter than normal so the weathers been making me sort of manic than normal; I am hoping science has a way of restoring things fast. Haha.
In  this Dair Queen place I have been laughed at by groups of teens and heard them talking behind my back while I was with my dad. (Mainly laughing at the fact I am dressed "Differently") and he sat there not knowing how to act and I felt like turning back and causing a scene, but the fact that it was a group, I would of most likely be jumped once I got outside the store.
Despite the way I dress my, whole life has been regulating around people giving me looks and starring at me and pointing and even talking about me like I am some freak show on display over my height and sexuality. So I kinda just grew to learn how to ignore it and do as I please and not really feel so "different" cause to me its normal haha.
I wouldn't plan on driving a car anyways, but its your choice and I think a scooter is smart actually, I normally get around with my two feet, a bike or if I was in Vancouver I would hop skytrains (sometimes) lol
But yea my dad wanted me to get my driver L, I had it once when I was 16 and wanted to drive then, but now it seems like its just so pointless. Price of gas is outrageous and the death rates in car accident is pretty high. Plus with my anxiety and such I would probably be a dangerous driver, but some people with mental illness do drive which is also kind of scary.

Mediar - Ya believe me in person, I try and not to cuss as well; mainly cause where I was raised it was really bad for racial slurs, hate, and just dirty talk and  insulting one another was always used as some sick amusement to get a laugh. Being exposed to a bigger city, I am realizing more out there and seeing people of all shapes, sizes, poor, rich, crazy, sick the list goes on... we don't have a high list of where I am because everyone seems the same.. redneck junkies. So I try avoid saying things like "Hes got aids" I still say "thats gay" mainly to piss the gay community off a little to how ridiculous they can get with the whole pride thing. xD
Being gay myself Its not a big deal but being called a faggot with someone either stalking you and saying it more than once or getting in your face then that's pretty much the point of crossing the line; which I would never do to anyone.

Our lives are full of adventure right. For instance I am trying my best to not let peoples insults get to me. It sucks but in all seriousness it shouldn't happen. I don't enjoy seeing others get hurt especially from verbal insults. I notice many people tend to name call and simply attempt 'comebacks' on others when a dispute happens. I figure that is pointless.
So I rather not name call or insult others but if it comes down to it I just enjoy explaining my reasoning towards a certain dispute/situation. I have no reason to go up to a stranger and begin to insult what they do. I have had many strangers come up to me and insult me. Easy ways out - ignore the situation, or if your like me, stand up for yourself and make a fool out of the disputer. When I mean make a fool, I don't mean abuse that person or name call, but rather question why that person is doing what he/she is doing. It sounds stupid I know but I found that belittling people an effective way of making them hide their egos. But I only do that if I need to stand up for myself. I rather be part of the world that helps others and is supportive.
Next time some person purposely comes up to you and tries to piss you off, say something to them; if they get offended just say, "aww, did I hurt your feelings?"
Sounds silly, gets away the jerks though.

As for a scooter, I just found out theres an electric motercycle that can reach speeds of 110km/hr. Not to mention, the travel distance can be up to 80miles. I will look forward to getting one in the upcoming future. Keep the world beautiful.
: Re: Whats inappropriate?
: JFoxx August 30, 2011, 12:15:53 -06:00
Yea that is true, I don't like the fact that most people have to be stupid and ignorant by belittling someone. I mean its just already as bad having people hit rock bottom severally confused and decide to either rob a bank or commit suicide or having people bullied to the point they shoot up a school or park.
Not to mention just conflict with government over disputes that cant be settled to the point they act childish and start a war when they can just simple agree to disagree and walk away and just continue on to what they already got, because honestly the government has a lot already.
But just seeing people generally release some negative energy on someone else who tries to maintain positive energy is just sickening.
Admittingly; I have some anger management problem, if I was to ever really snap I go ballistic going all loud and start cussing and if procrastinates further I will physically get violent, but over the years I been slowly just mellowing out on weed that I am learning to deal with conflict more calm.
Yea I will go a little ballistic but I do not cuss as much and I actually make an effort to think what I say and get some point across and I never get physically violent now unless I had my life threatened.

And that sounds pretty cool, I still don't think I will ever be comfortable driving even on a electric scooter especially in Vancouver haha
But the motorbike sounds pretty nice. Honestly I think scooters are pretty neat looking and would love to just drive it around in a empty parking lot for fun so you are pretty lucky to even having that. x3

"Said whenever a nerd makes a post that is too long to bother reading."

Dont post if you dont read; just common sense if you don't wanna sound like a idiot, ya?

Lol. I hardley understand acronyms anymore, like only know a few now. So I had to look what that meant up on google and kinda got offended to that unless it means something completely different I apologize.
But yea I just cant see why people can be so lazy to read when they are reading all the time in these forums or chatting with a friend on a messenger or site.
And if you were too lazy why  would you bother putting in some arrogant comment.

What's inappropriate? My next door roommate whom I had to deal with for an entire year.

It's still quite a big challenge to keep myself under cool, especially when you had to deal with some pillock blasting a subwoofer on at god-knows-how-many decibels during the day -  the bass literally causing a miniature earthquake at my desk, and his ever-so-loud socializing in the middle of the night, even stretching as far as long into the graveyard shift. Perhaps it's because I take rules and contracts to heart. If there's a rule that states "no this or that" in the residence contract, I'll be quite pissed off and offended if someone breaks it. And when the RA isn't around, the most I can do for myself is to contemplate to myself silently.

I would have loved to archive that photo of him getting on a drunken binge in the dorm hallways (no alcohol allowed, fyi), and tack it on his case in the long run, but fortunately he took that photo down - for himself.

I guess I'll just have to take a gamble on whom I have as my upcoming roommate... :-\
: Re: Whats inappropriate?
: JFoxx August 31, 2011, 12:00:40 -06:00
Lol. Yea, I hate dealing with roomates and prefer to live alone, but the economy is just like ya... there is no chance in hell that's going to happen.
My current living situation is just as hectic right now and im living with family!
I live with my mom and sister and her friend paying 350 a month for a bedroom. But it just feels like im paying into complete bullshit because it doesn't feel like I have much rights here.
My sister comes waltzing into my room and using my stuff like she was allowed because were family and me and my mom are the only ones cleaning up the trash house and it is still really bad.. smells like cat piss and shit and also, now we got a ferret stinking the place even more and to top things up we are infested with flies.
The house is just a junkyard maze, I feel the only sanctuary I have is my room yet my room gets invaded by my sister wanting to use my laptop I paid for.
My plan was to move in with a friend in Vancouver once I get my disability check but now my friend is just kinda acting weird, talking to drug dealers and I already told him I cannot be near any drugs cause of my past drug life experience and now hes pushing this kinda temptation on me saying hes got hookups for cheap drugs.
So now I am probably going to try and find a new roommate with someone I don't even know. Its going to be hard and difficult to go on about doing that since I hardly trust Craigslist.
I usually like to have my music on going and I listen to heavy metal, industrial stuff normally but I usually play it loud when no one is home and only during the day and I go by rules too only to a certain extent whether I agree on it or not and when I dont agree on it I ask questions to why the rule is there and start discussing about it.  Like if drugs wasn't allowed I would say well what about pot? for medical purpose.
or if it just seemed to be a ridiculous kinda rule.
But I pretty much obey rules aswell to avoid being kicked out, its pretty common sense.
Like if you want to be loud non stop and be all partying up with other people all night then do it on the streets or at a scummy motel. Lol

But 'ey, I'm running out of "constructive" ways to deal with the situation. I've talked with my roommate for the nth time, and thus I've been spending long nights at the library. Looks like it'll be the same case this time, but only worse, 'cause I can't trust that quiet hours are going to be enforced that much in a dorm catering to a 3rd-4th year crowd.

Note to self: Buckle down and prepare yourself for incoming long sleepless nights.

Yea, if you are not happy with the situation you shouldn't have to keep dealing with it like that. Since you talked about it already to them just be straight forward and kick them out or move out, depending on who owns the place more.

If only I could, 'cause I live in a dorm as just a fellow student. I'm not, say, the head of residence, or even a Residence Advisor.

TLDR x2

^ Yeah man, keep it up.  Like a boss. -_-'

But yeah, having grown up on various farmsteads in Chilliwack, with a father and two grandfathers who were all heavy-duty mechanics, I learned how to swear before I learned how to dress myself.  It's not even something I consider to be offensive unless I'm directly telling someone to f***-off or go f*** themselves.  I now work in a factory around people who were--for the most part--raised the same way, and it's just the way we talk.  "Same old shit," this and "holy fuck, eh," that.  I always think it's a contextual thing and that's how it should be.  I don't think anyone should look down on or be offended by anyone who simply speaks a more vulgar dialect than that person.  It would be like scoffing someone for speaking a bit of French, having grown-up in a French-speaking area.

Drugs are the biggest lollerfest next to firearms.  Whether it's Vicodin or crystal meth, a drug is a drug and people take it for different reasons.  What matters is that they're doing a brutal number on your body (some more than others) and most of them are highly addictive.  I think that if anyone had a decent-enough upbringing, they should have the education to make their own decisions on what to do with substances like those aforementioned.  I know quite well how bad smoking tobacco is, but I still occasionally enjoy a cigar or some hukkah-tobacco for recreation and I pay careful attention to not become addicted to it.  I stay well clear of narcotics and mind-altering drugs because I simply don't need or want them.  I'll never touch anything like LSD or meth because I don't fancy the damage it does to one's brain.

Ultimately, "inappropriate" is right up there with the term, "normal."  They are both decided by the opinions of society and they are, and inevitably always will be, fucked.  If society decreed that it was inappropriate to listen to music, we who enjoy our mass collections of .mp3s will be tossed like a dry bone to the dogs for staying devoted to our precious commodity; lest we decide to change and conform to the norm, and drop the auditory escapism altogether.  However, it is unfortunate that we must align with the norm for necessary things like having a job, having fun in public without getting arrested, and having a voice that is considered valid among the general population.  Some liberties must be surrendered in order to make a living, and I'm fine with that, as long as it doesn't encroach up on my home-life and recreation.
: Re: Whats inappropriate?
: JFoxx September 01, 2011, 01:25:24 -06:00
Yeah, when it comes to drugs for me its kinda weird, like I find myself on this to that and realizing and stopping, to finding I haven't even stopped; I just moved to something else and it irritates me that I just cant get off anything and how my life just seems like a passing blur.
As of right now I just smoke pot to calm my mania sometimes or smoke cigars to relief stress; drink beer or coffee and have my medical drugs; which I just discovered my doctor almost killed me giving me a terrible antihistamine and also a MAO inhibitor combined and that was like being back on crystal meth.
Finding myself like a zombie with parkinson and had to smoke pot to kinda take the edge off and the next day I was still feeling it. Finding myself more manic getting scared of the weather thinking the world was going to end and having impulsive behavior.
So I am probably going to be switching doctors, cause we never really had a great communication to begin with.
My whole life always has seemed like inappropriate was normal, yet like you said it seemed like there was some mask being put on when going out. Putting on a show display and hiding your true self because society would make you feel ashamed, guilty and stupid.
People just generally fall into some deep denial of how we really are because we are brainwashed to think the government is right and we are wrong.
Or we all want to be so equal and perfect, so we restrain ourselves from natural impulses either living in a whole different world being too afraid of reality or just generally sick of reality and avoiding it.
I noticed those who step out of the brainwash things and live beyond society, they always get looked down upon and treated like shit.
I met some pretty cool homeless people, punk goth, mental people, hippies that would just fall out of the brainwash thing and do as they want and have fun and have a more sense of freedom even though they get the looks and judge but I realized no matter what label you get and what style you go for we all share same views in away.
: Re: Whats inappropriate?
: Neox September 01, 2011, 02:12:28 -06:00
Oh I don't put a mask on when I go out.  I meant just more or less when going to work or attending more formal meetings like classes, seminars... anything that isn't related to your own brand of recreation.  My attitude and my personality doesn't change very much when I go from person to person.  But when I need something from someone, like gathering new information at a power-engineering conference or conversing with a complete stranger to get the low-down on happenings in the area, I will adjust my personality for that singular moment for the purpose of taking what I need.  It's all about adapting to changing situations, and reverting to the same old self whenever it's appropriate to me.

I use to have tons of facial piercings but decided to remove them just so I can hopefully land a job somewhere. Piercings are all healed over except my ears which I plan on stretching them more so I can fit in disks and I will prob be getting tattoos done up instead of piercings xD

Brittany-shadowwolf - damn =x my whole life revolves around blood and gore haha
