OK so this is something that's been in my mind for a Looooong time.
My entire High school life I never had a Boyfriend, that was kinda of a bummer but whatever. But in high school I started to watch "Friends" its a sitcom about 6 friends and all there adventurers with life and relationships. And in this show i noticed that these 25 to 30 year old adults who live in New York are having lots of different boyfriends and girlfriends and lots of sex.
Now I'm in a Relationship already and its my only one, and its gonna stay that way. But i have to ask, Is haveing lots of Relationships and a bunch of sex with different people Normal, or is this just a TV "Hollywood World" kinda deal?
It is normal for some people. My sister (who is younger than me) has new boyfriends ALL the time. I don't even know how many she has had. But for me... what I have going right now is the firs time it has ever happened for me and I am 28.
i'm not sure i understand your question. you mean a bunch of different relationships with different people at the same time? or dating different people one at a time and having sex with whomever you're dating?
I'm sure the amount of relationships, particularly serious ones, is great exaggerated in Friends, as it is in most sitcoms ad TV shows. But I would think that people would have sex with as many different people as they have serious relationships. There would of course be exceptions, (we all know at least one person who's like the town bicycle) but generally I don't think people go out and sleep with every attractive person they happen to date.
Also keep in mind that Friends takes place over YEARS and unless you're watching it from season one through to season whatever it ended on, it can look like they seem to have a new significant other with every episode.

Ive seen every episode of friends and its a lot of different relationships for all the characters. some that last longer then others.
I just don't know any one that's have like 20 relations in the span of 5 years weather the long or short or just for sex. thats why I'm asking if its a real thing or just media

I like to think about 'dating' like ... you go into a shoe store. You wanna try on a lot of different shoes. You aren't necessarily going to buy the first pair of shoes you try on. Are you? At the same time, I think it is important for personal development - to try on a few shoes to know what a 'good fit' feels like. Imagine going thru life - only ever trying on ONE pair of shoes? Isn't that what 'dating' is all about?
Just my thoughts ....
Giz ...
Hnnnnng, Depends on the person really. I mean, you could be someone who is looking for one thing in life, or someone who is shy.
Makes a huge difference. If you want to date, get out there and find someone.
I mean alot of people don't start dating till after high school. Highschool is this small fish bowl, the real world has much more variety.
I have dated a couple of guys. I didn't truly start dating till grade 11 because I didn't find anyone I could click with.
I wish my love life was more like 'friends'. It would be way more fun.

I choose to be single till I find someone who catches my eye or makes my jaw drop.
In personality and looks. Nya~

Your comment made me giggle. c:
I prefer the "wait for the perfect person" game over the "trial and error" crap.

Your comment is a win~
there we go then, :] all personal preference.
I feel like a loser now cuz i've been with the same guy since 10th grade, XD oh well, i luffs him, <3
Hells no Emo, you are lucky to have found the right one asap (if this guy is the 'right one' that is), and not have to go through all the trial and ERROR. Breakups SUCK, no matter how much you've decided they aren't right for you, or you hate them or whatevs. It sucks, cuz one person ends up being the bad guy for doing the breaking up, you start wondering about possible backlash (did you do anything with them that might be used as blackmail later, or perhaps they might spread untrue rumors about you)...
Every failed relationship can be like a weight that slowly crushes ya, especially if you end up getting intimate with them. It's still taking me some time to drop all of my past off my shoulders and move on with my bf. Emotional garbage (not saying emotions ARE garbage, I am saying all the negative from the relationship) can end up sticking to you if you aren't careful.
Ok end rant here lol
Hey now, it's better to be out of a failed relationship than to be stuck in it suffering. ;D

You don't realize just how many eligible single people there are out there until you get stuck in a crappy relationship.
