So I'm having quite the trouble of looking for a job. application after application after application, resume after resume after resume, my mom's getting tired of paying for expensive ink cartridges for my printer so I'm running low on resumes. I need help trying to find way of being able to make money in a short time without having to resort to any sort of prostitution and having to put up with the stress and hassle of having to find a job when I've had the dumbest luck for so long. I've made my friend wait way too long and even though I don't tell anybody, it's really bothering me that it's strung out this long. Obviously I'll be looking for a job after I've paid him, but for now I'm just looking to get this debt monkey off my back.... soooo, what can I do..?? :/
ps: just as a heads up now, for those who might mention anything about selling stuff, I don't really have much except for my computer, printer, clothes, and a few extra stuff that won't be worth selling to anyone at all...
work from home phone operator? there are lines very similar to phone sex lines, except that people just call to talk. they're usually found as a side project by bigger name phone sex companies. Of course, work from home phone sex can work too. but you have to have a lot of free time and be able to talk dirty really well. and not get scared off easily.
Another thing that might work is selling services; what are you good at? for instance,m I'm good with computers, and people have often told me I should advertise my services as a computer tech. If you have transportation, signing up with a talent agency as an extra for movies might be a good idea as well. They're not terribly concerned with people looking like super models, and they generally pay $10+/hour. And even then, from what I understand, a lot of it is just standing there having conversations with other extras, or walking around. they also provide refreshments during movie shoots, and you get to be in movies. One of my friends actually met John Cusack when they were shooting 2012. She played the old lady in that one scene in tibet.

Oooh, soo lucky~ speaking of extras, one of my other threads in the help/advice board is all towards that. I'm still looking for lots of advice on the subject and needing all the help I can get. I recently did a small extras for my friend, and the director was Nick Humphries. : P
(being the super-shy/sensitive person I am, I'm not really confident about myself as a 'person' in terms of looking like a model or anything along the lines of what people are looking for... x3) Hopefully later on I'll get to move up towards my big goal~ ^_^
And hmm, I'm gonna look at that and see other possibilities, if there's more than just phone sex lines lol... considering I don't really have my own cellphone and I still live with my parents (my mom being the super-anal parent) it's gonna be hard for me to talk dirty, lol xD and I'd laugh too much... X'D
Look into Temp Labour, they'll take almost anyone, even without a resume, it's a good way to make quick cash, since they pay you every day and you don't work set hours, just whatever you need. I worked with Labour Ready Surrey off and on over that last couple of years, it works!
If you go to Labour Ready on Whalley rd (near Canadian Tire), Tell them Craig sent you, they'll hook you up for me ;)
I, too, would recommend temporary labour agencies. It's easy work to get, and sometimes it leads to a regular fulltime job.
There are Programs and Services that are provided at no cost to unemployed individuals and are funded by the Government of Canada as well as the provincial and municipal governments.
Just have to go down to a service Canada center and see whats available.
Help with your resume, interview skills and people skills.
Good luck with your job search.
Temp work is not a bad thing at all, and can often lead to longer stints if you work it right. Definitely worth a shot.
I'm not sure what places you've applied to work at, but if you're looking for just money and it's no long term thing, you may want to look at the bottom rung jobs if you havent. IE customer service. Stuff like fast food places, or retail stores.
My progression was something of Paper Route -> Fast Food -> Internet Cafe -> Shoe Salesman -> Game Master
UBC is hosting an early life study in a few weeks. They want to know the circumstances of your upbringing and try to find out how that co-relates to what and who you are as well as things like disease rates and poverty.
Compensation is $100 paid to you for a three hour intervview with blood samplings and tests, and then 25 for in home urinary samples.
