Apparently Canadians tend to pirate a lot of stuff.  Even though we're no-where near as high as say... Argentina, which has the highest piracy rate thus far.

This royally cheeses me off.

This would be the downside of Democrats in Washington - they're tucked firmly into the entertainment industry's back pocket.

Wow...Retarded... Don't they actually do research before making damn claims? Especially about Canada... they don't even know anything about us.

When you look at the numbers..  They are even sadder.

The global avreage in CD sales decline is about 15%, Canada's national average is only 8%.  The global average increase in digial sales is 24%, Canada's is 65%.

So Canada's CD sales decline is half the global average and the digial sales is more than double the global average.

Not to mention that MPAA is looking at a second consecutive year of record profits.

Yeah, I don't think this is based in reality at all - they're just trying to badger Canada into coming into line with copyright abominations like the DMCA.

Nailed it. :)

They've been trying very very hard to do that.  Thankfully we have some saner heads in parliament trying to stop it each time (yay NDP?).. I hope they can hold out.
